Here are some quality of life suggestions I feel would elevate the game.
Changes from File to Account Wide
1st- Underwater Exploration is now Account Wide rather than per file, allowing you to see all spots and never get sea charts on all files if you’ve got the diver badge for that sea.
2nd- Titles not related to factions, renown, or progression are now account-wide. Examples include Omen Slayer, all 3 dragon-slaying titles, True Captain, Epicenter Explorer, both Bronze and Nimbus Abolitionist, note appraisal titles like Philosopher, etc.
3rd- Fleets are now account-wide, completing the fleet quest on a new file will sync that files fleet to your current strongest fleet. Active follower counts and gain, and everything related to fleets is synced.
4th- Professions are now account-wide, and each profession is synced once you do something related to said profession. Cooking a meal will sync your cooking profession to your highest level, brewing a potion does the same for alchemy, crafting a jewel, completing a chart, fishing, doing a bounty.
5th- Guidebook progress saves between files, only natural considering it is intended to be a tutorial, having to go through pop-ups and getting the guidebook notification popping up on my menu is distracting when I’ve already done it.
6th- Athena’s pages are now account-wide, though finding Athena’s Island is not.
7th- Note appraisals are now tied to the account rather than file, this makes getting the appraisal titles way easier.
8th- Dragonblood Rituals are now tied to the account, and you acquire your highest tiered one on a new file once you complete the ritual for the first time, regardless of what dragon it was from. (Suggested by @DubiousLittleTyp0)
9th- Similar to Guidebooks, Fish and Animal sections of the logbook should save as well.
Convenience Changes
1st- Bankers are now guaranteed to spawn on any civilized island in the islands main town if it has multiple (Rubica, Caitara, etc). I think this was already meant to be a thing but might be bugged? Gonna suggest either way.
2nd- Using a Rare/Lost spell will unlock it permanently on the magic, tied to the slot rather than the magic itself. If you reset stats, you will no longer be able to use the spells just like if they were techniques locked behind mastery, but once you get enough magic investment to use the spell again you can put it back in and customize it however you want. If you learn a rare spell on your second magic, swap to something without second magic or just reset stats and get a new magic, you will still have the spell on that magic. Not only is this convenient, but it also just makes sense lore-wise because why would you suddenly forget how to cast a spell if you’ve already read the scroll?
3rd- Imbues save across servers, self explanatory. If I have my sailor fist imbued with eagle patrimony, it should not revert back to spirit energy when I hop, but rather retain its eagle patrimony imbue.
4th- Charts should have increased probabilities of being to an island you’ve yet to complete the chart exploration task for, to make completing island exploration easier.
5th- Positive renown players can now offer to “spar” with other positive renown NPCs, this lets them fight the NPC and get their drops without having to have bounty, everything else is the same as if you were negative rep. (You get the fame if under 100k, same drop chance, can still die, everything.)
6th- Another one for imbues, but rather than holding h, it should be toggleable (pressing h opens the menu without the need to hold it, pressing h again or selecting an imbue will close the menu). Also, imbues should tell you what stats will be changed post-imbue somewhere on the imbue itself, or update the tool’s stats to reflect its imbue (so if i have a light imbued eagle patrimony, instead of saying 1x, 1x, 1x, it should either show on the imbue screen all of the stat changes, or when hovering over it, it should say whatever it would be)
7th- Deckhand Storage where you can freely move deckhands between fleet captains and your ship rather than having them delete when you try to move one to the other.
8th- Not sure what supplies currently do, but rather than what i presume is just minimize damage to the fleet, instead if supplies are over 0% then your fleet will take no damage at all (they just repair themselves with the supplies), but supplies drain much faster, ships will no longer randomly decide to sink, and only sink when their durability gets to 0. This makes supplies a much more useful stat while also making it very high maintenance.
9th- On the same topic as fleet stats, food is fine, but strength should, rather than having your crew desert you, decrease the likelihood that they die during tasks (You keep the ship but lose some followers when they die). The way I see it, strength is the fleet’s “Health”, Food is the fleet’s “Loyalty”, and supplies are.. well.. supplies.
10th- Option in settings to allow party buffs to no longer require a party (stuff like potions, meals, and enchantment spell). This makes it so that you can help people without them being required to join your party. This wouldn’t work on someone if you are in combat with them in, to make sure your enemies cant be buffed by your own spell. (Suggested by @Awesome_Wafflez)
11th- Choice when joining a server/respawning to pick whether you would like to spawn at your camp, story spawn, or your ship. (Suggested by @qwimmzon)
12th- Resetting no longer kills you, but instead does a 5/10 second cooldown before respawning you. Respawning wouldnt make you lose drachma nor lose any charts and would spawn you like it would normally when you die.
Misc Changes
1st- Settings should be universal, or at least an option to sync it to universal settings.
2nd- Setting to change menu from current layout to a compact layout, similar to how Deepwoken’s slots/files are laid out. Would show everything the current file layout shows, except with either miniatures of our characters displayed or head profiles like the Deepwoken layout. Maybe also numbered like how Deepwoken’s files are lettered.
3rd- Continuing with the menu UI changes, add translucent blocky UI on the left side of the menu with Play, Store, Settings, and Credits displayed vertically. These would work how you would imagine and how I mentioned on the previous suggestion.
(Image edited by ai to show concept, the buttons would be a bit lower and translucent or wtv)
4th- When unloading a ship, rather than checking if you’re at an island first, instead the game checks in a 250 meter radius of your ship for a shipwright regardless of whether the game thinks you are at an island or in the sea. This is to prevent late loading times for location preventing you from unloading for a few seconds and will get rid of dumb moments where your captain will say “There are no shipwrights nearby!” when there is one 50 feet ahead of you.
5th- Player stats are no longer shown, the menu gets cut off below professions, and instead when you click on their name you can click “view stats” to see their personal stats screen. Also, if they don’t have an equipped title, the space where the title would go should be removed, and have their character name right above their username.
(would just look like this, minus the space for title if one is not equipped)
(image edited with ai, it would not stand out and just look like one of the other buttons)
6th- Disable move clashing with teammates/allies, self explanatory. (Suggested by @Awesome_Wafflez)
7th- Option to remove “pvp off” notifications (for those who don’t want to be spammed when they use a large aoe multi-hit move like annihilation in something like a fort raid)
8th- Option to favorite/pin/move files. For compact mode, favoriting/pinning would pin it to the top. For the default mode, you’d just be able to move them around.
9th- Option in settings to filter out certain posters. There would be three options, those being Player, NPC, and Mini-Boss. You can turn them on and off as you please so if you turn off NPC and Mini-Boss posters you’ll only see players, if you turn off player posters you’ll only see NPC and Mini-Bosses, you get the idea. (would ideally be added after NPC spawns are fixed and posters no longer lie to you) (Suggested by @Ourobor01)
10th- Pop-up to confirm whether you want to make an NPC your rival or not, if you click no then it wont show up for that criminal again.
