I personally think this is accidentally profound. I get the implication that you’re at least partially joking while saying this but this really is the standard ritual that individuals in many internet communities engage in, where one is constantly in a state of upholding the rational, detached and intellectual self against the emotional, insane, and stupid other. In actuality, most people that post on the internet are at about the exact same wavelength in terms of “rationality”, “emotional detachment” and “intelligence”.
The scare quotes are there because all three terms are used in a questionable and loosely defined manner; the first is tautological since the in-group defines rationality as adherence to the precepts of the in-group and the other is expressly defined as being not like the in-group in the first place. The second is very obviously pathetic when unmasked and so much of internet ritual involves a song and dance about not admitting one is emotionally hurt by what someone else said (like a protracted game of “Uncle”). The third is often used in a more fascistic[1] sense by internet misanthropes where intelligence is not something to be cultivated but something innate to one’s being, for an example “SJW/vegan/woke/yadayada destroyed” content creators are the most abysmally uninformed morons you’ll ever come across but they sell the fantasy of instinctual intelligence based on shared prejudice. The fascism here is in the dehumanization of the stupid other on terms of innate stupidity instead of them simply not being well-read, for instance.

[1] Someone will get mad at me for saying fascist but I'm working under the assumption here that the post-corona spike in fascistic rhetoric online should be convincing enough for anyone old enough to remember the "early days". The ship of denial has long since sailed and only keeps being hollered at as an attempt to emotionally distance oneself from the more "extreme" variants of one's already-existing actions.

There are people here far far more obnoxious and egregious than you were at your worst, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t improve.
