I didn’t play AA but i can assure you that he was a boss. He and Trigno were fighting right? And in Cerulea i think) there was a quest to defeat Verdies. Also, yes AR sucks

He wasn’t optional.
by optional i mean if he was part of story quests or not, because i’m pretty sure he had a side quest
i think it was a story quest or main quest.
It was a main storyline quest, you were “required” to do it, but a wide majority of people skipped the verdies quest, as you could skip it by reaching Level 100 and spawning at Borealis. (I’m one of those individuals who never fought Verdies until I had my second mind and was level 120)
