Metal as a magic is supposed to be a stat sticky stat stick. Nobody picks metal for bleeding, they pick it for the high base damage. So why the fuck does it have to suffer base damage nerfs to maintain its dot.
Simple solution, remove the bleeding, compensate via a 5-15% damage increase.
Not sure how to justify an effort rating on this because its supremely simple
Please
Note: this is not a balance suggestion, i am not suggesting this to improve balance of the game, i am suggesting a slight rework of a magic to better fit with the purposes one uses it for
Honestly bleeding for metal is really good for paladin.
iirc, Lightning, explosion, and Ice give a fat 20% boost to damage to bleeding targets via DoT removal.
Since Paladins can basically infuse their magic into a relic. Doing this with the patrimony basically passes on this boost inherently, since while relics dont inflict status effects, they DO carry their synergies associated with damage interaction.
So Metal Imbue Patrimony is basically a flat DPS buff, same when we eventually get an Explosive or Ice relic.
Relics are kind of “one way” with their imbuements but its still basically mixing two different magics together into a single attack.
So something like Ember Staff, if its imbued with Ash, it will petrify after charring someone. Same for the Eagle Patrimony inflicting paralyzed on a soaked target.
devastate is cooler than tempest though so opinion rejected (actually i dont think ive seen a metal imbued tempest but devastate as a base move is cooler!)
