Talk about something that you like

I like the game and story I’m working on right now.

My story is called Flesh Armored Vanguards. It’s about 6 people chosen to protect the world from elemental spirits, strange entities that are a danger to humans. FAV is actually a remake of Elemental Flesh Armored Legends, an old series I canceled due to a story-breaking plot hole. I’m particularly excited for the villain chosen vanguard.

My game is (that) Magic Power Simulator. It’s basically a superpower simulator game but with weapons that’ll be impactful in combat. You got 3 classes (using AO terminology): mage, conjurer, warrior. I’m currently working on Kalitsajor’s X move, which is called null magic. It’s a KAY/O reference lol. I also have way more weapons thst I still need to make a design for, such as Godsight Hunter.

I currently can’t decide what I should work on.

Rainbows deserve more respect.

They’re honestly an amazing phenomenon and go far more complex than people realize
Let’s look at the basics of how they’re made,

In simple terms, white light containing all colors of the visible light spectrum hit water droplets in the air; water causes light to refract due to the change in density slowing down the light. The colors are slowed down at different rates due to their wavelength, causing them to bend differently and become visible independently from each other.

Alright that’s simple enough, lets go a bit deeper,

We know rainbows complete a full circular shape, but we don’t see this because the ground often prevents the full ring to be seen. This can be overcome though by going to higher altitude as seen from planes or mountains,

Notice faintly in the top right our next section of discussion; double rainbows!

The angle in which light hits the droplets changes how the colors are refracted. The image shows this fairly well, but I will point out the product of this is not only a second ring, but also the mirroring of colors in the second ring.

Now this discussion is getting fairly long but I cannot end this without getting to my favorite part; halos
There’s so many formations that I could do an entire document on but I’ll keep it short and sweet. Ice in the atmosphere can also refract light from the sun and moon- here are some of its formations; (quoted from Atmospheric Halos to spare you from ads)

Summary
  • 22° Halo: This circular halo surrounds the sun or moon when they are relatively low in the sky. It is caused by the refraction and reflection of light by hexagonal ice crystals.
  • Sundogs: Also known as parhelia, sundogs are bright spots that appear on either side of the sun. They are formed when sunlight passes through horizontally oriented ice crystals.
  • Upper Tangent Arc: This arc can be seen above the 22° halo and is caused by the refraction of light through column-shaped ice crystals.
  • Sun Pillar: A vertical shaft of light extending above or below the sun, sun pillars are formed when sunlight reflects off the surfaces of ice crystals.

Halos are amazing and truthfully, I still have a lot to learn about them. I hope this discussion has sparked some fellow interest in rainbows because they’re truely fascinating.

Also shoutout to circumhorizontal arcs, they’re awesome.

Yes

I am a 13 yr old male

I like making concepts for video games. I want to major in Game Design in college so I can fix some issues with my ideas and so I can work on games when I’m older. One of my concepts seems like it’d be an absolute money-maker as long as I make it fun and execute the ideas well enough.

Truthfully, I feel some small sense of joy that I picked up video games as my main hobby as a little kid, because working with those seems to pay really well. I used to just want to be a programmer, but then I figured out that there’s more to games than trying to reduce the number of else if functions in a script. The second I realized that designing the games was an actual job, I switched gears to do exactly that.
