The Nimbus Glider is a lightweight, cloud-powered glider invented by Sierra Stratos to aide in the navigation of the Nimbus Lands and beyond.

Mechanics
The nimbus glider has improved stamina efficiency and speed the higher up the user is, with the base speed (at sea level) of the glider being slightly slower and more stamina consuming than the regular glider. At cloud-level, the Nimbus glider will not lose any altitude and is only stopped by the player unequipping the glider or running out of stamina (in this elevation, it will have a bar similar to the skyship in which you can lower your glider at any time, but not bring it higher). Note that this is at cloud LEVEL for that sea, it does not need to be near clouds for this effect to work.
This glider’s aim is to assist high-altitude travel for when the sky gets more content and for dark sea exploration.

Obtainment
The glider can be completed via a level 170+ quest through a new NPC, Sierra Stratos. In lore, Sierra was the one who was helping Allanon build his skyship that could navigate the sea before it exploded. Sierra offers to try again but with a smaller version in the form of a glider, using the same technology that would allow you to use the glider on ground-level. You must find/gather three parts.

  • A skyship cloud absorber that fell into the Vents of Aeolus
  • Gather lightweight wood from the nearby arctic forest
  • Gather the finest Skyhall silver from rocks in the nimbus lands.

Yeah I think that’s pretty much it

This is similar to what I was thinking for that flight suggestion I made recently.
The way I thought it was that outside of being a tool that would allow any class to use a flight skill, it’d also serve as an upgrade to the shoddy ground dweller Samarian glider.

isnt

there’s literally zero chance vetex would add something fun and cool like this

vetex knows best

Its a skyhall glider that uses skyship technology based on the research for sea/sky ships.
Conceptually identical.

The one part I am not happy with is its use in the Dark Sea exploration. Not the fault of the glider though, but, rather, the Dark Sea’s for needing this use to begin with

4 star effort when I modelled the glider myself in blender

I’m basing that criteria of how much you wrote, I didn’t pay much attention to the picture, my mistake

S = Sierra P = Player
Dialogue with Sierra:
Before the explosion
Sierra can be found using a repair hammer on the side of the skyship
S: “What do ya need kid? Make it fast, I got work to do.”
P: “What are you doing?” “Goodbye”
S: “Working on this hybrid skyship, my greatest invention. Soon we’ll all be able to traverse the sea below without falling into oblivion!” “…”

After the explosion + Quest Sequence
S: “Can’t believe this, months of working for it to blow into smithereens? Not my invention, this had to have been tampered!”
P: “Are you okay?”
S: "Other than my leg and my pride, aigh I’m fine.
P: “Can’t you rebuild it?”
S: “Laughs I used the rarest materials imported from seas away to make that cloud mechanism, it fell straight into the ocean below aye.”
P: “What if I get it back for you?”
S: “Would you do that for me lad? If you find it I bet I could repurpose it into something smaller but functional. I’d go myself but I’m still working on standing straight.”

can we just make it so that vertical momentum carries over to glider again i want to clear the entirely of mount enkav with a single charged high jump into glider

no seriously that mechanic was fun why’d you guys remove it ):

because unfortunately Path and Greatjump exist

what does path and greatjump have to do with glider launches

also why cant we just disable glider in combat so they dont use it to escape fights

I love this, like A LOT, genuinely would be really really useful, and I love the effort that went into this, it would legit help me get to Skyhall without losing so much stamina :sob:.

I appreciate it a lot  This took nearly 2 entire days to model lol

You even made a whole model to express this idea, you have my vote. I think this is definitely going to be an excellent feature, ESPECIALLY if you got a warlord build (I have a mage one too but I have 2 profiles.)
