im too lazy to check early on if neviro’s spear is burnt before ravenna, but in his journal he mentions blocking iris’s flare magic with his spear, so i assumed it was burnt by it
I originally assumed that too, and its a funny thought, Neviro bringing a burnt spear because of Iris. I also had a headcanon that Neviro’s boat got wrecked because of Iris, which is why we dont use it LOL
But now knowing that Neviro has the Curse Inheritance, I think it makes more sense the spear was imbued by it.

I wonder if this might also be a thin with the legacies/descendants of the Gods. The old description for the New Greeks back in WoM states that they had “strangely colored eyes” or something, and some of them were descendants of the Gods. Like, did they have special eye colors based off of which Gods the descended from? Percy Jackson kinda had that thing too.
Morden has normal dark brown eyes, but I’d like to think his ancestor is Hades, so the brown eyes would make sense. We never so Tucker’s cause he’s dead. I mean, it would be a cool detail if this was the case with the legacies too.
Ngl looking at the image the spear really just looks like a darker metal. Imbuements typically have an effect, or in the case of solid magic having solid parts, around the blade. I guess it could be a case like the sunken weapons where they’re just incased in magic long enough that the magic just becomes part of the weapon, but if that were the case its unlikely that Neviro was the cause, given that it takes a long time for that to actually happen.

this is my point exactly, calvus has teal eyes and a black-teal curse fragment
neviro has red eyes and a red-purple curse fragment
I thought Neviro’s daddy was the Darkness Curse user which is Black (primary) with red/purple.
i thought it was equally red and black with purple instead of red for strong attacks
Old list but it describes Darkness magic as Dark Purple/Red or Purple/Black. So it’s more purple than either black or red, so I was wrong but this is presumably still accurate to some extent. Unless there is something else that describes Darkness Magic that is more recent.
Calvus had a fragment of presumably Apocalypse Bringer, so that’s teal primary with black secondary (Death is the opposite). So if the eyes are based on the primary color, then Neviro should logically have purple eyes. Although, it is possible that he could have a lesser fragment or is unawakened so he doesn’t have the purple eyes and has the secondary color of the magic instead.
