items that youll be able to put on weapons to give them buffs, sorta like enchanting it, or adding a gem to it almost, youll find weapon attachments from chests or drops and stuff like that, and youll be able to add them to weapons at anvils, similar to gems weapons will have a number of slots for attachments, with a max of 3
sorta exmaples :
weapon attachments will be like, maybe you found a “reinforced crossguard” which gives you 5% resistance while holding the weapon, or maybe you found a “lengthened barrel” which maybe increased bullet speed and range, stuff like that, basic buffs, stuff like that
reasoning :
it would be pretty cool to customize weapons more and make them more unique, i really like “personalizing builds” i like having as many options to differ from other players, and i think this could be pretty cool
worries :
i dont really know if this would be balanced, these modifications arent too large, but i dont know if giving one specific class a new thing they can do to get more powerful is balanced even if this is only be a small amount, maybe it is, i wouldnt know, im not really kept up in the metas of pvp
do we really need like 5 different upgrades required to keep your weapons competitively viable, alongside the enchant/jewel/modifier of your 1/3000 chance to find armor pieces?
frankly this is why i quit the game, making an optimised build is impossible.
I feel like this would be better if it was just a modification system you could do to customize your weapons, rather than an additional layer of grind.
A good bit of emphasis on weapon builds seems to be getting placed on the idea of blacksmithing, so naturally, rather than simply reforging tools out of different materials, it would make sense that we’d be able to change the parts around some.
I mean as the game keeps getting updated more and more things are getting added to make all classes viable or competitive, its inevitable, wouldnt be surprised if modifiers would get added to magics down the line.
