What’s your problem with the storyline?

alright maybe I’m just thinking of their magic or somethin

yeah note how like half the people in the room look pretty old

Basically the Order of Aesir is like the Assassins’ Syndicate, except instead of secretly only instigating and helping out both sides in the war as a “scheme” for entertainment or benefit, they also pretend to bring surface level peace and do it for their twisted world view.

The order have an agenda and the syndicate just kinda do what they are paid to do

Basically a summarization of what I said. The AS will pose two sides against each other for pay and benefit, and the OoA will also do it for their benefit (goal) but they will cover it up with promoting fake surface level peace.

Yes bro the innocent npcs

i think my current only issue with it is regarding being merciful/ruthless cause like
my character would NOT have spared maria dawg

i kinda wish it was a point system, similar to dialogue stats where you get that choice every time and have to consciously choose to spare people instead of “ohohohohoho you spared this one guy who is already likely to die so now you spare all these other people ohohohohohoho!”

If anything is ever done about the dialogue stat system its gonna be ass because there’s no indication in the game that those stats exist.

Vetex should add a small marker above the dialogue choice that states “wisdom” and let old files “re-spec” their stats because whenever I replay the story i just skip dialogue, i wish i knew this system existed before i did

i think its supposed to be that way so you don’t really know, although it is a problem for those just skipping through dialogue ig. at the same time it probably doesnt matter if ur not seriously playing through the story anyway

The thing about the stats isn’t that we aren’t taking the story seriously, but when we’re making our tenth file, we aren’t inclined to think about what dialogue stats we are choosing, we are instead inclined to not read the same dialogue over and over again, because we want to play the game. Reading a picking options isn’t that big of a problem for the first few files, but it gets repetitive.

It goes too fast. That’s it.

A good story has at least some filler. I don’t really feel anything for Morden or Iris, they really don’t have all that much relevance to us as the player character. They feel like plot devices to push the story forward. Nothing else. I barely view them as people, or our friends/allies. There should be more exposition.

Honestly not a bad idea tbh maybe some nice side quests can help give them more personality

this
the timelines just dont match up or barely match up
I didnt even mention the other inconsistencies because putting them into words will make my brain boil, but ill sum it up

Add up Octavious and Calvus reign and it totals around 25 years, short of between the collapse of Akursius Keep and the start of the Storyline, and around 45 years off of the supposed fall of Winterveil.

If the guy in the mines is around 80 or so and says he’s been enslaved for more than thirty years… something isn’t adding up.

I would love if someone involved with making the lore like vet or tech would clear this up since I really am interested but sadly that will never happen

Can I just throw some things in here

  1. Mages live longer than normal, what if Calvus hasn’t physically aged much and is older than he looks
  2. :arrow_heading_down:

Revon is Calvus’s brother

what does this have to do with anything.

yes but this theory was debunked because Argos who is magicless ages normal and remember’s Octavious’ reign, same as the dude in the mines

What does him potentially having a child at 18 have to do with anything + we have literally no evidence that’s the truth

I don’t remember Octavious’s reign
Also there are a lot of dudes in the mines

what does this prove

The crux of the original part of LoreHunter’s argument (from my understanding) is that because the Grand Navy arrested Nero, that must have happened in the past 20 years, as the Grand Navy was said to formed about 20 years ago. This means that Calvus, which took the reign at age 11, must not have been in rule for more than 20 years.

This means that the very maximum (assuming Octavious only ruled for 1-3 years) is that Calvus is 31, and his rules was 20 years, and that his oldest child (which vetex said the oldest was 2 iirc), would have been born when he was 29.

Because his oldest child was about 2, this means that the youngest he could be is 20, and he had his first child at 18. This would make his rule have lasted 9 years. This makes about a 10 year window where things could line up, assuming Nero being arrested is the same time Octavious took the throne.

This is why mentioning his children is important for the argument, and when he had them. There is no evidence of when he had children, except that his oldest was two years before we fought him, which is all we need to know.

Both General Argos and Gallio Bronze recall time spent under the reign of Octavious. If Calvus were to be catastrophically old because he is a mage, then these two would not be able to, since they wouldn’t have been around. But also it is impossible for Calvus to be really old for reasons mentioned above.

Gallio Bronze, a prisoner in the Eternal Mines, who we speak to as part of the quest, specifically says that it was more than thirty years ago. This would be impossible for reasons specified above.

Of course, this is all assuming Nero being arrested and Nero leaving the throne occur at the same time. I, personally, believe that Nero lost his throne before being arrested, but there are also reasons to believe that he wouldn’t have left the throne. Either tech or vetex will say something, or we’ll just have to wait for a definitive answer when we learn more about Nero in the future.

Ok I think that makes sense but my brain isn’t braining right now so I’ll take your word for it

Summed up what I couldn’t
