I personally use the ketch because it’s the fastest and tankiest ship in the game. It also has tons of space for cargo and makes getting from point A to B less of a slog when equipped with the right sail material.
But I can see why people voted caravel, it’s a PvE MONSTER. The ram trivializes almost every pirate ship in the game.

Yeah, you have to actuvely aim downwards with ketch cannons, otherwise they just fly over andy ship that isnt another ketch. Also no ram for ketch so caravel best
The rowboat is simply the epitome of perfection, it’s small, economic, and sleek. Truly a masterpiece of post apocalyptic magic irradiated ocean engineering.

Ketch looks cooler cause big. Although I have been using the caravel because of the ram slot, and with good ship parts, I manage to match the ketch’s original stats.
Ive personally encountereed bugs where using anything but the sailboat despawns any castaways and lost cargo I pull up to. Still trynna compose a bug report for it but thats why I like the sailboat

you can only use ram speed if there’s another ship nearby though, the ketch is just better for getting around but i prefer caravel anyways because i already have two deckhands giving me ram damage
I’ve used ram speed like a mile away from a ship, it’s kind’ve buggy and randomly lets me.
I’m aware it’s supposed to let me when the ram is facing the direction of a ship but it’s buggy and let’s me sometimes regardless.

caravels, because they’ve got RAMS. i’m an absolute RAMMING MANIAC, i LOVE RAMMING. i RAM EVERY SHIP I SEE until they’ve sunk to the bottom of the sea, i just can’t keep myself from RAMMING all boats in my line of sight!!!
