Yeah for example it’s been confirmed that lore wise u can cast while moving and movestack
what about when magma or lightning sets wood on fire though? i don’t think the flames are still magic at that point
A fire only needs oxygen, heat, and fuel, those magics are probably hot enough to trigger combustion and it’s not by virtue of them being physically damaging although I do think at a strong level they can cause physical damage since magic is literally everywhere in AO as well including the atmosphere/sea/even ground
being hot enough to trigger combustion is what i mean, surely if it’s able to do that it can cause damage physically i think
The sun can and does cause fires, even forest fires at times but I wouldn’t call it physical damage. Again tho magic is everywhere so it probs can in the world of AO
does this mean that having no magic energy makes you completely immune to magic attacks?
(how does this work with stuff like wood, do you just phase through it?)
by physical damage i just mean damage that isn’t from the conflicting magical energies of the people, so i’m counting heat like that
Then sure but a person from real life would still be effectively immune to most magic attacks
Polemos had little to no magic energy presumably (was said to have no magic but after vet said everybody had magic idk how much it could be) and he could so easily destroy magic that he was thought to be immune to it
i think the physical form would still be able to do something, i mean we’re able to conjure blades and stuff with magic shapes, those should be able to cut
okay so basically not having magic energy is like an advantage
interesting…
yea but it’s just an imitation.
it’s still magic
you could make a magic blade out of water too and normally that probably wouldn’t hurt someone since the water (presumably not pressurized or frozen) would just splash on them.
i assume it is compressed somewhat since it’s able to hold the shape, but if not then blunt force should still be possible at least
remember it’s not real water though
unlike a curse user
so wouldn’t it just phase through a magicless person?
i know, but it should still have physical form, it’s not just a hologram
I mean if that polemus guy could destroy magic with little effort I assume other magicless people could probably have an innate advantage too since they don’t have any magic energy to react against the attacks.
I figured it was more just that water doesn’t normally hurt people and only hursts here because its conflicting with that person’s magic energy
(water can actually seriously hurt people like hi pressure jets but thats normally only capable via machinery and I dont think water magic has that much pressure)
im aware, but most of the water spells dont seem to be hitting that hard like you said
to another mage, its a lethal attack, to probably an average human, its a refreshing splash.
