What's your favorite greek mythology story?

Since they are literally headcanons you can give the roman versions too.
Personally I was introduced to greek mythology by Saint Seiya so I have a sweet spot for anything Athena-related. Although my favorite one has got to be Orpheus and Eurydice, or Medea’s.

I dunno I can’t remember any Greek mythology stories right now

It’s my first time hearing about this one

The legend of the DELTARUNE

that’s norse

Hermes stealing Apollo’s cattle.

Kinda… a lot of different cultures have some variation of that story/concept.

The one where Zeus eats a woman he impregnated, and then Athena pops out of his head.

The Odyssey, the story of Theseus, and the story of Orpheus all stand out to me personally.

the time where helios’s son tried to ride the chariot of the sun across the sky and almost did it but the sunscreen (yes i shit you not he used special ointment) wore off last second and he burned to death

Oh yeah, isn’t that the explanation the ancient Greeks came up with for black people existing? Isn’t it because Helios’s son wasn’t good at flying the sun, and before he crash landed, he swerved a bit too close to Africa?

:skull:
i was completely unaware of that

this is Ovid’s (the roman dude who wrote Metamorphoses) headcanon. I don’t think there is any mention of that in ancient greek works

uranus getting his balls cut off

Artemis being the least horny god

[complete sentence]

??
I never said you were wrong , I just mentioned that the part about black people was added by Ovid. I’m sorry if it came off weird, I wasn’t trying to be pedantic or confrontational

OSP mentioned holy based

Honestly its hard to pick a favorite myth, there are a lot of fun ones. I’m partial to the Sisyphus myth, Atalanta is also cool, and idk if the Odyssey counts but I like that one a lot too
