I so desperately want mages to have field spell. Even if I am a savant main.
I have extremely good reasons for it, but also because it seems fun.
So just asking, is the spell going to come back or not?
the spell wasnt finished at that time and was also abused in a vile way that prime construct spell can never match
itll come back when vetex feels like revamping it xD
If so that would not just give me a DPS challenge, but also trap mages with me inside.
I have a billion moves that attack close-mid range.
i hope they rework it to make a domain of your magic at a certain radius a big platform in air isnt very much hype
What Field ((Domain)) needs to do is cover a huge area where it automatically applies the status effect of your magic on all enemies repeatedly (Burn, Blind, Soaked…)
And then buff your gear stats by like 10% or 5% if you’re inside.
The counterplay is that it has a huge windup and cooldown
To be honest I don’t want this spell to be a thing, would make fights too one sided. Like this game isn’t JJK, and jujutsu sorcery is already imbalanced in the anime itself so why model a spell after it? Would much rather have zone which is just a large area that deals a small amount of damage over a huge area and applies your status effect if any.
Its not one sided if careless use of it implies eating a blast or 2
id argue that it could be balanced if there was a technique skill and rite that could be just as game changing, but that’d lead to hybrids being left behind so
vetex probably just deprioritized it. slender’s idea of auto-applying status effects in a radius is actually pretty solid though, that’s way more interesting than a floating platform nobody asked for
Strength hybrids (except Warlord) can get the special technique called “Left Right Goodnight”

I think the best way to make this balanced is that
1: the caster gets a 10% multiplicative boost to their armor substats
2: the magic status effect is applied to the enemy or enemies
3: the area in the inside will be shrunk so that melee moves hit more
4: Due to the mass amount of energy it requires and consumes, it will take 50% of the caster’s energy AND stamina. While also making the caster take 30% more damage.
5: Every hit the caster lands on the opponent will apply 2 of the magic’s status effect instead of one. So if metal magic hits inside, it will deal severe bleeding instead of just bleeding. Fire would deal 2x burning, Ash would petrify faster etc on top of their preexisting status effect that is landed with the field. (Crystal would be pretty strong)
6: It can be broken from the inside and outside with enough destruction stat (not clash rate), this makes destruction Jewels more useful and more people would run them to save their teammates. Inside takes 1/2 as much damage than the outside however.
And another side note:
If 2 casters use Field at the same time near each other, both fields combine and the area inside will be larger while having the effects of both fields.
Field effects will not stack of they are of the same magic/type.

No, it’s a lost spell thought up by presumably Vetex all the way back in the WoM days and would be especially large with a long duration.
