the only reason why people keep playing this game is because of the promise of epic future content (the hype for future updates)
if there’s one thing vetex is good at, it’s marketing and creating hype for updates, which is the sole reason this game is kept alive
but i’m better than that, i’ve already realized his tricks and the illusion has been broken, we’re never seeing the end of this game, just like all of his past games
Well I do but just as you said, I wouldn’t blame anyone for not doing it.
Anyway, personally what I like the most about AO is the setting, and because it’s one of the rare somewhat good Roblox games that truly feels like a game you could find on other platforms
All the bad in this game makes the good feel bad as well. It wouldn’t be a stretch to just call AO a bad game cuz there are flaws here and there that you just can’t ignore
Because it’s an actually good RPG game with no paywalls etc where you’re free to do anything. Sadly tho the community is absolutely horrible, game itself is absolutely great.
I like AO because the combat is fun and certain aspects of worldbuilding are cool. The PvP and PvE feel fast, but at the same time, calculated. Sometimes, I find myself just spamming moves and therefore losing; to succeed, you have to be intentional with your actions. The magic system is visually appealing and better than a lot I’ve seen. Magic pollution is unique, the Dark Sea is terrifying, the Fracture is memorable, and Chaos and the Sight are very, very cool. I think it would’ve been better if Vetex and Techlevel had made up their own mythos to fit their world rather than hinging off Greek Mythology, though. The storyline also doesn’t live up to the potential I see in the world they’ve laid out (Vetex and Techlevel). The way I see this world, power is alluring to all, but comes at the cost of your humanity. Sea Curses, the Sight, the Dark Sea, dragonblood rituals, these all can fuel your strength, but is it right to seek these methods? If the story followed the amnesiac player who’s trying to navigate this cruel world, and whether or not they’ll succumb to the appeal of heartless power to protect their friends, or choose to do the right thing, I’d be a lot more engaged. Because those who choose to hold onto their humanity will always be weak, those who discard their humanity in the pursuit of power and magic will obtain the title of the Strongest, just like Acheron, Cazal, and the whole Order of Aesir. That’s much more interesting than just mercy vs ruthlessness or whatever the story is trying to tell us at this time.
Also, lag will hopefully be fixed. The update is just delayed.
ao’s kinda one of those games I would seperate from the “roblox game” category cuz its so non-roblox game yk
like other people have said, there’s no game like this one on the platform
Atlanteans aren’t scary themselves, but the thing is, anybody could turn into one if they aren’t able to navigateto Dark Sea, which is a lot harder to non-legacies because they have a harder time with energy sensing. What I find scary about the Dark Sea is the infliction of insanity and icy hot rain. If the monsters within don’t kill you, many sailors kill themselves.
