You all asked for another...here you go, Arcane Odyssey Riddle pt. 2

Interesting.

Wonder what a Keihatsu would be doing in the War Seas, given that they’re explicitly stated to be from the Sixth Sea. Perhaps something to do with Thorne? But he left the War Seas almost a decade before AO starts.

Who says she’s explicitly Keihatsu?

Good point.

In case anyone hasn’t talked about this yet (I haven’t read every post yet) but the background of the dove looks like an ocean. A bird flying with some sort of plant would let sailors know that they are getting near land. The actual plant the bird is holding is probably an olive branch - Bing

me being a Christian, i obviously know that a dove returned an olive branch to Noah’s ark to let him know that the flood was gone

… ok i probably contributed nothing

Theory 2

Okay what if the dove was the pre war seas and the eagle is Mt Olympus… that’s all I got

Well, I guess that’s an interesting theory…The eagle actually symbolizes Mt Olympus pretty well if you think about it. Eagles are known to represent Zeus, which happen to be the head of Olympus, and the lightning background helps support that further, as Zeus would strike down any mortals who dared to approach the Gods’ home. So if you take this all into consideration your theory might be onto something, who knows.

Vera’s Theory I

Alright, I’ve got a solid theory. This may be my magnum opus of riddle theories. It’ll be vague since we don’t know much about the story. Enjoy.

No, I won’t include a tl;dr, since there are too many points. Read the full thing.

Introduction

First, I’ll start with what we do have and know - I’ll focus on the left side. We have a dove, an olive branch, calm waters, and a rising sunset, as well as a quote, which is below.

  • Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are. - Hafsat Abiola

Peace Mentioned in the Lore

We don’t see peace often, but other places where it is mentioned is the Peacekeeper and one that is often overlooked - The Age of Peace; Y1900+. Its counterpart is the War Ages, which are WA1,000.

The Surroundings

After reading through SomaSupposedly’s comments on the background, I’ll focus on what each of the components portrays in the art piece.

The Dove

  • “The dove represents peace of the deepest kind. It soothes and quiets our worried or troubled thoughts, enabling us to find renewal in the silence of the mind.”

How does this relate to the Arcane Universe? Up until World of Magic, Arcane Adventures was a sea-based game, and Arcane Odyssey will be too. Instead of raging seas, which represent discord, agitation, disharmony, and unrest. Now, deeper inspection into the representation of the dove and its relation to the Arcane gods reveals that indeed, the dove was a symbol of Aphrodite in regular Greek myth. Not only that, we are told that:

“As the goddess who restrained the hand of Ares, the god of war, Aphrodite was represented as a goddess of peace.”

The gods may be dead, but it still is intriguing to find this information.

The Vulture/Eagle

Another thing to mention is that even though in the second side there are lightning strikes, I believe the animal on the other side is a vulture, Ares’ symbol (his other one is a dog). These two things - the dove and the vulture - remind me of War and Peace.

If it’s an eagle instead, it could represent Zeus as the father of the Cosmos and the 9th Unknown, who sent lightning bolts that struck the earth with might.

Noah’s Ark and a Biblical Event

Now, the dove reminds me of an event in the Bible, Noah’s Ark.

Noah's Ark

“But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

6 After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark 7 and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. 8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. 12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.” Genesis 8 1-12

The Rising Sun

Now, with this information, I’ll talk about the rising sun. It’s a sunrise, representing a new day. It could also represent a new adventure lorewise. I think that it also relates to the Sun flag seen in a development update:

Final Summation

With all of this information and research, I’ll sum up the Peace side to what I believe it to be.

  • “Securing a world for everyone” - Using peace to make the world a better place. In World of Magic, there was a part that I read in the Hero Storyline that said to stop a threat larger than the world has ever known. I believe it could have disturbed the peace, a world that was for everyone.

  • This could be similar to our task in AO, but I don’t know and I want to keep this really vague.

  • Contributing the best that we have - The power of wizards is magic. We must contribute this to keep the world we live in safe.

  • All that we are - As wizards, we control and possess magic, and as said in the previous point, we must contribute who we are as wizards to stop those who disturb the peace.

  • Securing this space - Keeping it safe so that other future wizards after us may keep it safe for those to come after them, making a safe and peaceful world.

It may relate to the storyline, so a vague tl;dr

  • We’ll be using our magic and who we are as wizards to contribute to an effort to make a peaceful world (idk, through war and violent efforts or through peaceful efforts?)

My fingers are practically dead at this point and my brain is fried, so hope this is somewhat correct. If you liked this, just tell me or something and I’ll try part II of Vera’s Theory.

yeah this is pretty long
