most of tech’s writings get voided by vetex regardless, i don’t think the 2 have good communication internally (as seen by the whole winterveil timeline not adding up)
that would be a terrible shame…
someone should dm tech asking if there’s an actual lore reason sea clusters aren’t as irradiated as the dark sea or if it just happens to be where it cleared up first, its bugged me for a while
Bro I had totally forgotten about that, considering we know that the Marauding sea is the southernmost sea and we know there are people living there seemingly alright as far as we know despite no one being able to bear getting too close to it, I wonder if the aberration is even south beyond the Marauding sea. Maybe it’s within the dark sea or there’s like a little tiny sea cluster cut off from the war seas? That or everyone in the Maruading Sea lives in places decently far away from it I guess.
the key is to not think about the realism of the fracture. if you do then you realize that the fact that because the fracture had enough energy to literally destroy the continents, NO humans beyond maybe curse users and theos would’ve survived. even if they did, the earth would’ve been turned into a ball of molten rock for thousands of years.
after all, the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs 66ish million years ago didn’t even come close to destroying the continents and it wiped out 75% of plant and animal species on earth, so no way would there be life on earth after the fracture
so yeah if you try to approach the fracture with realism then it should have either: not destroyed the continents at all which allows humans to survive or still destroyed the continents but also wipe out all life on earth. you really just gotta completely suspend your disbelief and accept what happened at face value
no you don’t get it durza actually specifically targetting the earths crust with that attack since magic is intent based so nobody else got hit that’s how Theos was able to dodge trust vetex is my dad
location could be related to the fact we can sail to the epicenter from the war seas
yeah but guess what lives on the crust? literally all life on earth, checkmate son of vetex
i genuinely wish more people thought like this with certain things
not everything needs to be entirely realistic, or at all for that matter. I don’t understand the people who are obsessed with trying to say otherwise
im gonna use asura’s wrath as an example because some crazy shit happens in that game that nobody complains about realism or survivability for (and nobody needs to)
without going into detail, THIS happens to the earth in that game
its perfectly fitting for the section its part of, it sets the tone it wants to perfectly, it fits within the story, nothings wrong with it
I’ve never seen anybody do it to this game in particular, but if anybody did it would completely miss the point its actually trying to convey and misses what its supposed to be entirely
sorry for rambling but like i really hate when people try to inject “realism” into everything like its some requirement that all things must follow when its not
like a certain developer we all know…
I would imagine that the dark sea’s level of chaos is likely uniform across it’s entirety, meaning that the dark sea engulfing the War Seas and the Seven Seas would very similar in their amount of magic pollution. (Maybe with the Dark Sea around the Seven seas being a bit weaker).
With there being areas of higher magic concentration (The Epicenter being an example of the higher extreme). And there also being areas of lower magic concentration (With the sea clusters being examples of the lower extreme).
Somewhat unrelated, but the giant wall of smoke that separates the Dark Sea with the Sea Clusters probably doesn’t exist in lore and is just there to make a clear gameplay boundry between the main area (War Seas) and the area beyond (Dark Sea).
The boundry between the two is probably less sharp and more similar to how the storm around Makrinaos looks like.
guys magic isnt in real life so ao is unrealistic 0/10 game never playing again
I don’t think this is true for the most part, at least not as of the current date. I can see in the Patreon chat that they definitely do have something they share that lets them know everything and they seem to work together on it pretty well. Stuff like dates surrounding Winterveil being kinda fucky seem more to be an exception rather than the rule.
No, them being cooperative is the exception…
Infact i distinctly recall Vetex outright saying lore stated by tech is not canon, and is subject to his own erasure at anytime so
can we make vetex and techlevel switch roles
I don’t see how making tech switch from being a writer to a writer and programmer would help
i want to hate on vetex like everyone else here but i know that if i do so i’m going to become an example
I would message again but i dont wanna be annoying so ima leave it at that. wallahi
^
screw it. But if it happens once more im leaving it be for good
