Dude, he survived being tortured for several momths, how is that not mentally resilient?
Its not to the same level as MC (he says Mc went through far more experimentation than him), but the fact that he still survived and even managed to escape is still very telling of his mental strength. May not be to the same level as MC, but still a lot more stronger than the average person.

Before release I head-canoned Morden as a warrior. His magic is probably Shadow, Earth, or Ice based on his personality.
