Hitting bosses with a grab-move doesn’t actually grab them, but it deals a burst of damage presumably equal to the total damage of the regular grab. If the grab move has a ton of movement behind it, you can use it to intercept bosses with pesky movement.

Tempest, at least when NPCs use it, has a brief lingering hitbox that deals a couple hits of true damage.
I know this because I attempted to approach my Warrior rival during the days of 99.9% Resistance build working on block, and Tempest could still chip away my HP bar unlike the other attacks which I was all immune to.
environmental damage does damage based on your total health
so if you lower that with sophragos or glass arcanium, you take less damage from those
the amount of times i’ve accidentally hit snare on a boss and just sat there and took it
