Arcane is now a different genre, what changes?

The game now revolves around a permadeath mechanic.

Team-Based FPS like Overwatch/TF2

You know I actually wouldn’t mind if the Arcane Universe turned into a high school anime romance

Horror - A lot darker with a fog preventing you from seeing past like 20 studs in front of you. NPCs are now “spirits” (good), “demons” (bad) or something of the like. Minotaur and Exiled are horror theme’d bosses that force you to witness jump scares upon hitting you. A lot darker in tone/visual (not just literally darker as I said before). Water’s blood.
Building - Players can edit the terrain/buildings, even being allowed to construct their own. It’d essentially become minecraft ig, destroy someone’s hard worked project to hurt them more than any death could. “Hammer”, “Shovel”, and maybe some other tools are added to allow for terrain editing. The entire map is completely destructible and doesn’t regenerate except for a very low, just above sea level, plate.
Comedy - Adds the clown nose to all player’s characters. All spell names are now dad jokes or puns. A new “funny” stat is added that’s basically just “luck”, allowing for RNG to just favor you.
Fighting - Fishing? Gone. Chests? Gone. Towns? Gone. Map? Replaced with a stadium ring. Blood and death are all that’ll remain in this warzone as people’s only option now is to fight to get stronger. Also no pvp level requirement, a level 9 can fight a level 90.
FPS - It just becomes Phantom Forces but with “magic” added to every gun, like a “magic AK-47”. Still has the same map. Bullets will use your magic energy up, which you still need to charge to use instead of reloading.
Medieval - Borderline is already this…buttttt I’d just say add castles that players can own/operate. Maybe replace the Starter/Novice/Apprentice Wizard roles/titles with ones that match a Medieval theme, like “Serf” or “Peasant”, “Squire”, etc.
Military - Kind of like a mix of Medieval and Fighting. More war based instead of just raw free for alls. Teams, allies, formations, order. It’s a more controlled version of Fighting really. Bandits could act as gorilla soldiers or something.
Naval - Arcane Odyssey
RPG - Top down view. No jumping. A lot more gear to allow players to min-max the hell out of whatever build they want. Less traditional skill needed and more game knowledge/grinding required.
Sci-Fi - Move the map into space, give the players moon gravity, replace everything magic related with vague technology that kind of makes sense at first but once you look into it you realize that stuff like shooting black holes just isn’t a thing. Pretty much just Star Wars honestly.
Sports - Each element is a different sport. Ain’t gonna decide on what but ice is hockey, don’t care what you say. You pick your sport and fight others using stuff form that sport (like ice having a move where they make a puck out of ice and shoot it at a player/NPC). Basically just WoM but magics are more sports oriented.
Town and City - Players can buy/upgrade/manage homes in towns. To do this you need to become a citizen. You’re automatically a citizen of the city you spawn into but it’s possible to not only own houses in other cities but own multiple houses, but just one per city/town. You can rent them out to NPCs to generate passive income, turn them into a guild hall, whatever. It’s not permeant though. Additionally cities/towns will be at least twice as large.
Western - The map’s pretty pretty much entirely bronze grasslands minus the whole grass being everywhere thing. It’s also flatter now in general. Weapons are now almost entirely western themed firearms and even some explosives, like namely dynamite. Everyone’s forced to wear a cowboy hat.

I think Arcane Odyssey in some kind of futuristic city with white skyscrapers with screen billboards and glowing lights + Monorails would look really sick. Maybe you take the role of one of the last people in the world with magic?

Battle Royale:

At the start of each round, 100 players spawn on 1 of 10 “spawn islands.” The ten players on each island search the houses for weapons or magic scrolls, and then kill the other players on the island. Any players that survive can then hijack one of the NPC ships in the ports and sail to other islands to kill the remaining people. There are rarer weapons in the islands closer to the middle. In the center island, there is an Ancient magic scroll. Last man standing wins.

Get a bounty, see what happens

That’s not what a bullet hell is, though.
Nothing in the game even comes close, actually.

Nah, they just got all the basic crap out of the way for people to talk about actual interesting and unique genres.

This quote is intresting, cause it has a point. How about combining other subgenres instead, like different types of RPGs (Turn-based RPGs, action RPGs, Besthesda-like RPGs)

Remember: If a genre consists of only one word that is not a combination of other more specific words.

Its too broad to describe any game in a meaningful way.

Maze genre

Self-explanatory

lmao a MOBA Arcane Odyssey would be interesting.

You choose a class and the magic, select the best kit to set out with. Build items from the Iron Armor to different enchanted amulets and trinkets like idk “Stone of The Peacekeeper” for stats, level up to level 20 or something. Fight the ‘titans’ or large bosses at the end (Durza and Peacekeeper respectively).

Explore the map, destroy towers, fight minions for exp. Perhaps a duel gamemode or adventure mode or survival mode for no reason.
