not due to direct buffs , simply due to an unintendedly overbearing interaction that was simply meant to increase the effectiveness of a relatively useless stat (attack speed) that ended up being far too powerful in the numbers department
mage wasn’t nerfed, and the few direct buffs that fighting styles received weren’t exactly game changing. this patch’s failure pretty much just comes down to a single change that was misinterpreted and dialed up way too high

Discussions about pvp on the forum typically don’t go too well. If you’d like a place to talk about your issues with pvp, suggest how to fix them, and have general discussion about balancing the game’s combat (and other miscellaneous aspects), you can join the official AO balance server;
