I mentioned earlier in the topic about giving sharp weapons gouged when imbued with glass but that can only do so much. Alternatively glass could do a bleed that gets worse with movement, changing it’s effect to be entirely different from standard bleed.

nah if glass got gouged it would be a great buff since gouged cant be cleared

Glass could work like a mini-crystal where after four hits it procs gouged. If glass conjurers naturally recieved gouged like @Crusade suggested, it’d also be a good buff since you’d be able to pair the natural gouged with the gouged you get from a 4th hit given that you land your hits.

This is similar to what I said but with gouge stacking if conjurers get gouge as well :thinking:. I think any change that buffs it will be good to push glass forward. Also nerf metal, wood threshold to 33% like earth. There’s no reason to use glass when these monsters bleed with no effort

Crystal definitely doesn’t need a buff. Especially a DoT to go together with it’s insane stats. You meant Glass? If so I do agree.

JUST giving glass gouged,in a way it could work together with Bleed like ALL other DoTs would be much simpler IMO. No need to fine tune bleed to an insane degree so it can’t be abused by other builds, or just trying to deal with bleed stacking that might either be INSANELY op or just end up still falling short compared to other DoTs.

Giving glass what it lacks compared to other DoT magics seem to be the easiest fix.
The way glass works and it’s stats are, it suggests that it should have a unique DoT like other magics, but it has only THE most generic DoT in the game. Falling short when compared to ALL other magics.

I feel like, it should be said that Glass doesn’t necessarily need gouged specifically. However, it could receive something that is comparable to gouged but with it’s own name. Ie. the movement based bleed I mentioned earlier with the same property of not getting cleared like gouged. Whether or not having glass bits in your body would limit the mobility of a arcane universe citizen is up to Vetex.

That may be possible since they’re trying to nerf dashes, a dash counter would be needed to detect when the player dashes. Glass could have a special bleed/effect called something but the target has glass shards inside their body and if they dash it adds a new bleed and removes the shards. (if it stacks)
Or just create a status called Bleed 2 separate from gouge, that has higher bleed damage. Applies when bleed on bleed or like glass-bleed crystallise (3 stacks on bleeding target).
The dash-detecting shards could also apply a stack but then people might say it’s overtuned

Glass feels like, has the stats of and probably should be a magic that has it’s own DoT. Like many other DoT magics, but ends up having none. Hence why it falls short compared to pretty much all other magics.

It also doesn’t help that it’s synergies are so few and… not that good as acid.

Sorry acid mains. It’s not like I hate acid or anything. I just keep using acid as a comparative because it’s pretty much JUST a better glass, with better synergies and better damage.

Hemorrhage or something would work quite nicely maybe. It’s basically an ‘upgraded’, graver bleed.

Or it could just be based on how fast the person is currently going (it ticks based on that). Meaning if a person is spam dashing it’ll deal a tick of bleed damage every 0.25 seconds or something vs 1 second. It effectively encourages players to slow down, especially since it can’t be immediately cleared (maybe magma could but everything else is debatable).

One possible benefit of just having it deal bleed damage constantly and not be clearable is that once heat weapons come into the equation or when we consider mages/warlocks with their heat based styles/magics. This could just be a bleed that doesn’t immediately get cauterized. (Maybe it can take away from the duration of the effect?)

snare is a buggy piece of shit that’s way too punishing to miss considering it can miss for no reason at all

either give glass gouged or give it its own status effect like lacerated or something and just have it be bleed+ or something. like we’ve got melting and corroding, burning and scorched, so why not just make an echo fighter equivalent for bleed?

sounds like what people want is a new effect, but are getting hung up on the term “bleed” because it’s already being used in game. hence the “hur dur no special treatment for glass” bs.

I think I read somewhere above that maybe special effects for bleed are going to be saved for slash magic. Although that doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense when you consider that slash could deal bleed, target limbs, and/or do some other shenanigans such as cut through most attacks.

It would make more sense to give slash magic an ability about ‘cutting tendons’ instead of going for the bleed route, when there is already an entire magic that was SUPPOSED to focus on bleed and when so many things in the game already deal bleed.

Something like reducing movement speed on enemies hit by slash magic and make them take damage if they move too much. Not as a DoT but a flat damage every time they move too much something like that.

I don’t think snare is a healthy move for magics builds to have as is, if it is ever made viable truly then mage will cover almost all potential combat options with the exception of potentially mobility, though conjurers would have absolutely 0 downsides or shortcomings.

It is the exact same problem that exists with the ‘bursting’ aura. Beatdown attacks should only be relegated to weapons and berserker builds.

So we leave glass underperforming because of a speculated feature that may come in months or a year :slightly_smiling_face:.

Burning, scorched, melting, corroding are 4 different types of “burning” statuses. That’s like giving metal crushed, earth stoned? wood splintered and glass sharded and making them 4 different kinds of bleed. Not really sure what the issue is when it’s already in the game with different types of burning.

Also nerf metal wood to 33% threshold like earth (I’ll say this whenever I get the chance)

Is grab immunity not communicated by a white health bar?

Yeah I got nothing. Giving glass a unique status effect seems like an odd way to go about buffing it though. I’m sure there are better ways to do it.

how does snare do anything against beserkers when said beserker can just use rushdown to get the immunity
