i’m pretty sure maria is balanced around you having grinded a bit and having decent armour and she is pretty bullshit the way she spams invulnurability
but like i don’t see any of the other bosses being too challenging after a few tries
its cause maria’s bullshit invulnerability
just substitute it with like 70% damage reduction or something
I hate marias gun attack I always get hit by that and not the giant water tenctacles…
she should have more startup and endlag for that
I hate that I never miss a hit on maria and still only land 30% of them because she’s immortal for 70% of the fight

tbh when i first played i thought elius would have a gimmick where you break the pillar he’s standing on to make him vulnerable for a bit.
then i watched him fly up to the top of a non-existent pillar and knew it was just a stat check.
A Vetex boss fight actually have a fun gimmick? You must be insane!
Gotta be honest, the bosses are all very easy. Maybe Maria’s the hardest when the bosses aren’t bugged and movestack, but that’s only because of her I-frames activating whenever.
When the game released? I’d argue Argos was the worst.
i also played deepwoken , but i sometimes forget how good parrying and blocking is .
bruh how could you play enough to have parrying imbued in your brain but not enough to get to power 20
same , that’s the worst in my opinion. i can parry the tentacles easily, but the gunshots are unpredictable, lightning quick, and they deal almost 200 damage, which is kinda bullshit.
Shura & Iris: Pretty easy mainly for tutorial
Ellius: A challenge early game but easier late game
Carina & Argos: Easy to evade attacks since they’re close ranged
Calvus: difficult it’s better to just jump him with friends but if you get good gear you have a shot at soloing him
Maria: As long as you attack from above and go to the end of the ship when she’s about to use tendrils she’s pretty easy don’t fight her below deck and the shield isn’t that op because she doesn’t regenerate it just tedious.
TBH the only one I actually struggle with is Calvus
calvus becomes way easier once you learn all of his attacks
cernyx is def extremely difficult for a new player, he teaches you to block and parry
maria is indeed probably the most BS boss with bad design
whenever i struggle on a boss for too long i just pull out a gun and make it a battle of attrition
