I wouldnāt consider myself a weeaboo because I donāt obsess over and fetishize other peopleās cultures.
I would not consider myself an otaku either because although I do watch anime, I donāt intentionally associate with others that do, broadcast the fact that I do, nor associate myself with any fandoms or fanbases.
Anime communities and fanbases fascinate me, though. The fact that an individual can form so much of their identity around the kind of entertainment they consume is interesting. Iām certain that at least a segment of my personality was formed due to the kind of media I consumed as a child, and that my personality as of now is constantly evolving and adapting to what I now take in, and that fascinates me.
