Rn you can only join your clan in one slot, which discourages playing in multiple files, and when you do play on another file, the clan is just sitting there gathering dust.
Making a player capable of joining the same clan on multiple files requires a complete reset of the entire system, but this just happens to be the perfect opportunity since rn clans don’t really mean anything other than “cool kid points” (banks will be deleted next update anyways so it literally doesn’t matter if this gets added now).
If the clan system doesn’t get redone and reset this update we would have to wait for a long time in order to get this QoL and we might never get it at all since clan buildings will be taken into account after the update.

Hold on now, first of all, tell me what the change this is for actually is gonna do.
Secondly, I see this is a huge win. Clans all get a fair start.
I’ll admit, it’s gonna be a bit sad losing the stuff I didn’t work for, but it’s better than a start built on having already been there done that.

Anyways I think the QOL change is incredible and I wouldn’t mind clans being wiped.
I’d imagine it’d be pretty easy to compensate all clan owners with a galleon refund or more if needed.
The ideal would be to have seasonal infamy wipes anyways to keep the leaderboards competitive (ofc with a reward for grinding the leaderboards every update) instead of having clan owners be attached to their slavery farms.
I hope I can still not be in the clan on certain files, because that completely knocks out gravy files.
But if it doesn’t, I’m not sure how that warrants a reset
After nimbus and after the game died down, there a thousands of clans with either zero or only a couple active members. I remember 10 devoted to tank fish alone that are all gone.
There should be a clan wipe, because now that the game actually mostly has devoted players instead of people riding the hype, we can actually have active clans.
Even if we don’t wipe clans intentionally, I’d bet you anything vetex is gonna somehow accidentally wipe them too lmao
