It’s peak…
Some people just want to see the world burn…
Sounds cool but I feel like the agility skills would raise the skill ceiling of the combat too much
you know, i like the idea of insanity having no positive stuff
That’s a good thing, and eventually it’d be like something every can just slot in very easily. So future bosses could be worked around having it as an option as well; allowing them to be more complex.
random crits are fair and balanced!
Bunch of random ideas:
High drawback adds a small % of damage you’ve taken to your attacks and reduces damage taken by the same % (you’re absorbing it)
this could maybe be given to resistance instead?
(alt effect: Blocking is replaced by absorption, damage reduction is significantly reduced, in return you get a large portion of the absorbed attack’s damage added to your next attack(s))
High regen lets you passively regen limbs and when you die in combat, you instantly heal a portion of your hp back as a second wind.
High defense passively gives you a small boost to block power.
High resistance passively gives you a small boost to max hp.
High armor piercing allows you to start removing max hp. (this works similarly to the currently existing injury system, the affected player will need a few minutes out of combat to recover, the effect is immediately removed on death)
High attack size gives your attacks a noticeably larger “graze” hitbox where opponents take a small portion of the attack’s damage without a direct hit. (if the target is hit by graze then the explosion, only the attack’s normal total damage applies)
(alt effect: damaged terrain now causes shrapnel that blasts out as small short ranged projectiles)
I don’t think it is. Remember that AO is an RPG and combat is not supposed to be its main focus, if the gap between the skilled pvpers and the average player gets too large then the latter is likely to have their experience worsened due to forced pvp and stuff.
So you’re saying the minority of players (the highly skilled pvp fiends) are going to somehow ruin it for the majority of players? They won’t, it’ll only be a handful at worst, and if they witch hunt they can be banned.
I love these ideas, especially that substats WILL HAVE A BLEEDING USE EVEN AFTER THE GAME UPDATES.
Its not that it does more damage, it’s that it does multiple attacks
Maybe have the other attack do less damage but idk if that would make intensity viable
I know
But the point is
A random chance at doing more (instances) of damage is still technically a crit
ULTIMATE ART: DIVINE SHOWER!!!
Oh right, Warding was supposed to have that… I’ve never once seen it despite having spent 120+ hours on a divine warding set though.
We really just need a good reason to wear Warding for any reason other than the Dark Sea.
Unfinished imo because I don’t know how to make the Ultimate Art supercharging work well, without feeling like something that’s easily blocked or negated via other methods. It should be threatening, but it also shouldn’t be impossible to avoid.
