Bismuth is hardly toxic at all, its only real danger would be consumption in large amounts (though for reference, pepto-bismol contains a fairly significant amount of bismuth).
Bismuth is radioactive but its such a slight effect its basically the same as being non-radioactive in standard use.
@Ultra Bismuth crystals can actually form from just pure bismuth metal, no chemicals needed. Thats the simplicity of it, to make simple crystals (blend of the rectangular crystaline structure and an amorphous shape) it just needs to be melted and then cooled slowly. Anyone with a stove (or other form of heat, just needs to get to 520F/270C) and bismuth (good amount can be bought online for about 20-40 usd) can make the crystals. Slow cooling just gives better quality, brighter colors and bigger rectangulsr structures.
