Cel's attempt at worldbuilding, i guess

Oh, I thought you were just talking solely from a system approach

Okay, im tired. I’ll come back to this in a few hours or tomorrow.

Added/completed a few stuff

Ah yes, intentionally gaining a heavenly restriction

Not nessecarily intentionally. There’s a cult that kidnaps people and forces them through this process.

Why is there a cult who’s goal is making more Toji’s?

They do that to ā€œcleanseā€ people of their Gifts before forcefully recruiting them because they believe that gift users are evil. (this stuff may actually change because i just came up with this idea today)

Huh, neat.

so basically if one could manipulate another’s Will, Ego, and Mind, they could basically control them like the Imperius Curse

Yeah, but complete control like this is incredibly rare.

another update to this thing, now im tired

The Inferno Express

(Somewhat inspired by the Library in library of ruina?)
Also known as the Hell Train, the Inferno Express is a phenomon that started with an event around 80 40 years ago, and has since occured every 999 days exactly.

During this event, exactly 1002 tickets manifest themselves over a period of nine days, and people seem to be drawn to them by fate, as all 1002 tickets were found every time. Signing a ticket will teleport you and anyone within a 4 foot radius to an ominous area that appears as a somewhat modern but recently abandoned train station on a floating island in the middle of an endless red sky and feelings such as hunger and thirst and sleepiness progress much slower.

At the evening of the ninth day, the entire area gradually becomes awash in a red light, which means the train is coming. When it arrives, the remaining ticket holders must board the train within 16 minutes and 39 seconds or else they will be left behind to witness the station’s closing, which you probably wouldn’t want to be there for. Afterwards, the train takes off and passengers may either just wait or participate in a series of ā€œOrdealsā€ to gain points which can be redeemed at the destination. It is advised to be wary of the night, because during nights in the train, every passenger is allowed, encouraged even, to kill each other. However, if someone attempts to harm another passenger during the day, they will die instantly.
There is some significance to the number 9 often displayed on everything related to the Inferno Express.

(i just copied this from discord, so you may have already seen this, probably)

Decided i’m going to refine the power system a bit, cause why not?

Talent and the Four Aspects of the Soul

The Ego, Aspect of the Heart

The Ego is the part of the soul where one’s emotions and personality are stored. A personality may change and grow (or deteriorate) with a person over time, but abilities stay mostly the same unless they go through a Second Awakening.

Gifts, the main power of the ego and most commonly used power, are special abilities most Talented people have and are based on one’s personality at the time of awakening. Gifts are usually simple abilities like super speed or fire manipulation, but those with more complicated personalities may awaken similarly complex abilities.

It is rare, but not unheard of for someone to posess multiple Gifts, and is usually a sign of a multi-faced personality, however, many cases of ā€œmultiple Giftsā€ are actually a single Gift with multiple applications.

Experiencing a Second Awakening may cause one’s Gift to gain new capabilities or even gain a second Gift to reflect one’s current personality more, however, this makes it harder to learn powers of other parts of the soul such as Anima.

The Will, Aspect of the Spirit

The Will represents one’s desires, goals, fears, and preferences. .placeholder

Vis, the force of the Will, is a power one can manifest by focusing on a memory and the feelings it brings, and using it to significantly strengthen an attack and imbue it with elemental(?) properties that reflect those feelings. (for example, anger from the memory of a betrayal may manifest as flames, or self-hatred from a terrible accident one caused manifesting as horrid, black lightning that destroys you from inside.. it depends on the user’s interpretation of those emotions.)

Manifesting Vis slightly increases your physical capabilities when not directly being used to enhance a move. Vis can also be used in the ā€œheat of the momentā€ (ie, during an intense battle) and is stronger when manifested this way, but is harder to achieve than using memories of the past.

When two people using Vis clash, time seems to pause for a moment while images of the memories and ideals of both people flash before their eyes, and the one with the stronger motivation will win the clash regardless of the morality or power level of the other, stiking directly at their soul and knocking them back or sending them flying depending on the difference in willpower. This is referred to as a ā€œclash of willsā€ (directly ripped off from shogunned lol :sob:)

The Psyche, Aspect of the Mind

The Psyche, more commonly called the Mind, is where the soul stores thoughts, memories and experiences before copying and sending them to the brain. It is the most neglected aspect of the soul, since most people train the powers of the Will and Ego to the point where all but the most basic of the Mind’s abilities are ā€œlockedā€.

Gifts with psychic elements, such as telekinesis or ā€˜charm’, draw power from the Mind as well as the Ego. Such Gifts bypass normal essence resistance to an extent and require a special defence known as the ā€œmental barrierā€ to resist psychic attacks. The mental barrier scales with the strength of the mind and can be ignored if the target allows the ā€˜attack’ to happen, for example, letting someone speak to them telepathically.

Inscriptions are special passive abilities affixed to one’s soul and are usually hard to notice. They manifest as a person develops their tendencies and personality when they grow up, and also through particularly significant experiences, contributing to their story. Almost everyone has at least one inscription and they can range from something small, like a bit of extra luck or better memory, to things like ignoring fate itself.

The Mindscape is a person’s ā€œinner worldā€ with a unique appearance and physics depending on the owner’s personality and most prominent thoughts. To reach their mindscape, one must find it while unconscious, usually during a dream. After that, they may enter this space more easily by emptying their thoughts. With practice, one can also achieve a ā€œflow stateā€ by entering their mindscape while performing a task. (unsure how this would work though)

A sufficiently advanced master of the Mind and Ego may overlay their mindscape over reality or warp themselves, their surroundings and even other people into it so they can take advantage of those unique physics in combat or something.

Aura, Aspect of the Body

Aura is the essence something has within its body and is somewhat connected to physical health, so some people don’t really count it as an aspect of the soul. By default, aura is spread somewhat equally within a body, however it can be shifted to various parts of the body to increase its physical capabilities, (strength, regeneration, etc), while leaving other parts more vulnerable. Increasing one’s aura will also raise their physical strength, durability, and essence resistance.

Unlike the other powers of the soul, aura can be used by any Talented person and increases with their total essence, however, since it is tied to the body, a physically healthy person would have a stronger aura than one in sub-optimal condition (if they have the same power otherwise)

um, did i make stuff worse?
oh right, i forgot to put anima and aberration and stuff
i’ll do that later
