It is not so noticeable directly, but you can feel it.
The feeling of smoothness and clarity which you didnt know you needed. That happens with every major FPS increase
back before i had a proper pc i played on like 24 fps and it felt fine to me ![]()
isnât the eye 24 fps with crazy blending?
my eye maybe
I highly suggest an eye doctor.
i had an eye test like 3 weeks ago and they said i was perfect
the eye does not have an FPS because it doesnât send a series of still images to the brain, instead its a constant flow of visual data that the brain constantly translates into what we see
24 fps is the minimum of when motion seems to become âsmoothâ to our eyes[1], but you can definitely see a difference in smoothness for larger fps/refresh rates, seemingly plateauing around 220 (moreso since the brain just canât process the information in that short of a time frame rather than the eyes not seeing it)
this is why most animations are shot in 24 FPS, its the bare minimum for smoothness while also making it so you only need to draw 24 images for a single second rather than like 60 âŠď¸
A good test to show that more FPS does make a huge difference is to get into a game where you can move your characterâs camera around with capped fps (such as 30, 60, etc), put your irl hand out next to the screen and move your in game camera along with your hand. Which is smoother? Your hand without a doubt. If you donât see a difference then well uh⌠but I believe 95% of people will see a huge difference.
Not every game needs to have crazy 240 fps or even 60 fps. Some games are fine at even 30 fps depending on the game. But its simply not true if you canât see the difference between fps at 30, 60, 144, 240, etc unless there is a problem with the monitorâs refresh rate or something else. There is dimishing returns the more fps you get of course, but there is a difference.
TGR 2.0 and the game is saved
we canât handle a third tgr in this state
The great replacement
After full release I can proudly tell the difference now
When the heck did this exist ![]()
like the trello is dead the devs need get back to working on arcane odyssey right now
No updates on the trello doesnât mean the devs arenât working on the game though. Unlike a few weeks ago, Vetex can be seen on studio based on his activity status for the past few days after the QoL changes. Heâs focused on working on the story bosses so expect that we wonât see any update from him in the trello for a while and this really shouldnât be a surprise.
Him designing and coding bosses usually take 2-3 weeks based on his history on working on bosses, and well we have two bosses for chapter 10 so that means about a month and a half at worst. At this pace, if Vetex doesnât add anything too ambitious then expect the story update dropping at October at best.
heâs working on galaxy of magic, the next installment in the series
cant wait for arcane universe after galaxy of magic
gonna be 100% lore accurate
hellish
