i spent so many robux on this game to get Vesperian and don’t play it anymore
(it’s fun but my pc is booty so i can’t play quick-react games when i can’t quickly react.)

I’ll explain why you think that: because there is no gameplay other than this thing called “progression”.
I have to remind you that “progression” doesn’t exist, it’s only a thought twisted beyond belief by the lack of appropriate game essence&design found within Deepwoken.
This is due to Deepwoken’s only given objective consisting of keeping your character alive by making it stronger.
But here’s the problem: this runs in conflict with the gameplay, causing fanatics to only think of the PvP when brought up, resulting in said gameplay becoming secondary to the purpose, and being left behind after being transformed into this convenient word called “progression”.
“Why is it so convenient?” You might find yourself asking. That would be due to its implications. “Progression” implies that the gameplay isn’t the goal, it implies that playing is secondary, it implies that it is a necessity, a chore to go through.
This is one of the reasons as to why Deepwoken is a lost cause; The purpose it gives goes against its gameplay and provides neither entertainment, awe, nor joy.
tats why I make cosplay builds
makes me want the build to last for 1984.3 years at max
anyways real reason is that I’ve been playing deep for like 3 years now
gone so dry and I’ve done everything
deep is not a lost cause
me when i can’t progress on my “real life” profile because the devs made a permadeath feature
dawg, it’s a core mechanic
you’re not gonna watch one piece if you can’t stand the length or play dark souls if you can’t stand the difficulty. people play deepwoken BECAUSE it has a pretty unique permadeath system. if you don’t like it, don’t play it. you don’t have to dog on people because they like it
it’s not really a “bad” system, either. it creates a sense of difficulty. the real sense as far as i’m aware is 2 things; lore and difficulty. the “progression” isn’t becoming stronger, it’s learning lore and learning how to play the game
Dawg, it’s a core mechanic that encourages not playing the game due to a lack of goal&purpose.
That is what differentiates literally every rogue lineage clones and REAL roguelikes.
They have a goal, an ending; Yet Deepwoken doesn’t, it seeks to be something that it cannot be due to its fundamental game design decisions.
Besides, you’ve missed the point: I didn’t criticise permadeath, I criticised the lack of goal.
Go and get yourself some of that “real life” intelligence exp instead of doing so in mediocrewoken.
Calm down bro
I am calm now, I just had to (G) vent it out all at once.
I detest people misunderstanding my words more than anything and then insulting me for their wrongful assumptions, especially when I wrote it as comprehensibly as it could have been worded.
it’s not a roguelike though, it’s a soulslike. it’s obviously inspired by souls games with the dodge block parry system and difficulty.
i believe i mentioned the goal though. it’s not levels, it’s knowledge. it’s learning enemies and figuring out the game and learning where to go, when, etc.
i said i don’t play deepwoken much. also, “mediocrewoken” is too fancy to try and insult it, try “midwoken” like everyone else. no need to be fancy
Now I feel bad for the unnecessary insult, sorry for the outburst!
i’m not like, crying over it or anything. i may not be the most mature person in the room but crying over a pretty round, semi-alright insult? yeah no thanks
It remains courteous to apologise for a wrong-doing, no matter if it harmed its recipient or not.
Honestly when it comes to deepwoken, there is already a goal out there
Similar to what swahsonguh said, it pretty much dissolves around knowledge of the game and then using that knowledge to go beyond what you were previously capable of until rank W
Until you’ve done all you can, there is no goal to achieve nor nothing to do left, somebody spent a month or two going full blast into deepwoken and still have not achieved all in-game content nor knowledge (if that is valid) and I guess it all dissolves into pvp or making fun builds
Goals now after-wards is like what you want yourself to achieve and what "story’ you wanna go down, like I made a jetstriker felinor alchemist/ironbomb build, despite the low-goal of it being a successful miscellanous/saving people from ganks, it turned out successful and was something I was very happy and proud of (Which I manage to get some sort of reward and praise at the end before it turned into hot garbage from nerfs, do note the build has stuck with me for MANY months before I wiped it)
I guess deepwoken comes down to your own story after you’ve done all you could ngl
yeah fair point. apology accepted
So… is it intended that I can just level up infinitely and near-effortlessly at the training instructor thingy?
Non hive race therefore I am racist towards you
uh no and what level are u rn
go to erisia so you learn how to fight more stuff or if u want try and do trial of one
Right, assuming that erisia is that big center island, I don’t see why I should be there at all, not gonna lie.
Especially not when I can just get to whatever the maximum Power is by just messing around in the dojo.
