Interesting how the personas are upgraded through turning points. With curses, if you want to strengthen them, you have to strengthen your personality. For example, are you lazy? Your curse would match that among other traits. Become lazier? That aspect of your curse would become more intense. Curses do have turning points called Reverence, but they’re more your curse trying to take over your physical body due to it’s high strength than anything.
Theoretically though, you could have a curse that works similar to a persona, in how it’s a separate entity based off yourself.

Does all of this apply to the Reaper Curse? I’m asking because I’ve noticed some differences between the Reaper Curse and the description for other curses.

The Reaper Curse is, indeed different from these curses. The Reaper curse was the first curse to exist, and was split (possibly using the 100 swords) into the much more variable and interesting curses which I’m working on now.
You can see some similarities in the element-bending focus, the tattoo, and the aspect that they’re both phenomena spread throughout an entire large area in a universe, or even several.

Yeah, but I feel like the flash is kind of a stretch as it directly impacts your physical body. I’d say maybe that could happen in further stages of the curse though, so yeah, kinda?
I’m not sure if the color can change. Presumably it’s based off the same things the powers are, so maybe?
Powers in the earlier stages are usually less extreme (Can be more extreme based on personality, though), being more things like stereotypical elemental powers. The further the stages progress the more powerful your curse becomes and the higher skill cap it gets, and it’ll also start to phase over to the physical side. The powers of the curse (based on personality) are able to express themselves physically, there’s more passive appearance of your element on your body, etc.
They’re entirely based on your mind in a somewhat abstract way. Aspects like personality, traits, desires, experiences, and other mental signatures (along with your element) are the determining factors.
