My friend suggested it might be red-green colorblindness. If that’s the case then I feel bad for posting the video, because it’s much less their fault and it wouldn’t be right to call them stupid. Hovering over a name in the player list tells you if that person has Fame or Bounty without needing to use colors at all, so hopefully they will learn to rely on that in the future.
It would be weird if a player ranked up to Rear Admiral without ever realizing that they couldn’t hit Fame players. That’s quite a lot of time invested. So I think colorblindness is a fairly likely reason here.
