There are multiple issues I have with this suggestion that clearly show the lack of effort being put into this suggestion.
Firstly, half the entire suggestion is unnecessary rambling on how you’ll obtain this fighting style. Then mix it with lore writing that doesn’t belong and terrible formatting that is on par with opticalcord suggestion making this suggestion hard to follow.
And this is before I even start criticizing the suggested idea itself, figure out how this suggested fighting style will work in-game before spending half your effort on figuring out the obtaining method.
Second, how will this fighting style even fit the game’s environment in the first place? The very idea of a cyborg is inconsistent with the game’s narrative and environment. It might be shocking but the game is set somewhere in middle age.
Third, the details of this suggested fighting style might as well be non-existent. The only information you gave is that this fighting style has higher speed and defense and less damage, it also apparently causes explosions or something.
I couldn’t tell exactly how this fighting style would be more different than simply punching people and casting spells.
Fourth, your justification and reasoning are lacking. Your only idea on why this fighting style you suggested is that magic cyborg is very cool, nonsense like “magic always messes up the flow of innovation” (what do you mean??), and that technology made with dark sea ingredients is strange? I think this is probably the only decent part of the entire suggestion lol.
It’s pretty clear that if you’re going to justify adding an absurd idea that doesn’t fit the game like a cyborg then you’ll need far more reasons than simply “cyborg is very cool haha”.
So this suggestion is horrible with no redeemable quality, that’s the only way I can describe it. Scrap this idea and move on. Honestly, I probably spent 10x more effort writing this reply than the suggestion post itself.
The funny thing about this is that I distinctly remember that vetex saying he was interested in adding a cyborg fighting style in a past QnA.
good job on removing the soda part
Yo let me take notes here (I cant stress hard enough that this isn’t sarcasm)
Also what IS the format for suggestions?
Thanks
I remember, so I was just thinking of how that would work
honestly, im just happy that im getting feedback cause I love this game and I just wanna shoot out good ideas, so thank you all so much
I’m not gonna roast your suggestions anymore, but a pseudo race-system would be cool. Like y’know how fighting styles are separated into different levels of mastery and you have to train them up right?
-
what if it was like basic combat where you don’t have to level it up and instead of bandit beating you just ask the the Trainer to upgrade you? This would be important because unlike the other fighting styles it would dictate how much robotics the player would have (Robots don’t have souls after all, if they do then that’s an entire can of worms regarding the lore)
-
The Race system could be very simple and be a precursor to the Vampirism style. As I stated before since the trainer could upgrade the player maybe they could also retain human aspects and also have robot aspects as well? The Cyborgs could have different skin and eye colors (and the dirt system could be replaced with rust, different clothes maybe but that’s a stretch). If we wanna go full on Rouge Lineage/Deepwoken we could perhaps separate the race from the fighting style so we can have nonsense like Cyborg Explosion Thermo Fist Savant or something
-
Amateur level would be like a regular Cyborg (similar to Franky like you wanted before) and then all the way at master it would be a full Android like Aigis from Persona 3 (She has cool robot abilities). This might be going far too but maybe being a master in cyborg style could take up the same slot as a lost style due to complexity.
-
The gimmick would just be an overheat bar. It’s stats would also favor stuff like Resistance and Armor Piercing (it’s a robot after all) so no spamming and stuff. You’re also waterproof so no water weakness.
While I’m at it, maybe Cyborg style itself could be more reminiscent of weapons instead of magic (you are made of tools after all). The Dodge Reflex could be a jet system maybe? If not then just give them a more defensive style Exopolis
If you plan to make Cyborg Fighting Style V3 then do consider my ideas (or I might make one myself, then again I don’t have suggester role lol) If you do please glaze me. Although something like this would probably be too complicated and hard to do. This may also suffer from being too ideal and appealing to warlords.
This was mostly a creative yap session about unrealistic ideas that can’t get in the game (which is why I didn’t sign up for suggester) so yeah try to be more creative when you make suggestions but make it realistic enough still.
that;s what im talking about
ill just say i dont think fighting style suggestions in general serve much of a purpose
all fighting styles have the same techniques by default, so their only differences are stats, status effects (often based on a magic), background lore/obtainment method and appearance including animations.
now which of these might actually be considered? honestly im not sure if any of them would really grasp betex’s attention but it sure isnt gonna be the first 3.
- stats are mere numbers that anyone could make up in a second, theres no reason to specify them in details. at best you can imply what the style is meant to be good at as a bonus and never as a main point of the suggestion
- status effects are usually reused assets to some extent, and if they arent at all then maybe you are a bit too optimistic about what effort would be put into a single fighting style. and keep in mind that status effect and other specialties needs to fit for all skills, i dont think we’ll ever get a style where like your shot is a grappling hook or you teleport during your rushdown without other techniques following the same rules
- i dont think theres really a point trying to limit vetex to your vision background lore, at the end of the day its his game and hes gonna write whatever he wants
- and that leaves the appearance, something that can actually grasp the community’s attention with clips instead of merely being words. the problem is that you actually gotta put in the work to showcase your creation and theres no way to know if all of that wasnt for nothing
…so basically, if you dont wanna be the next JtN then imo fighting style suggestions are pointless. its not ideas that are missing, so your only chance is somehow convincing people with actual creations (on roblox studio for example) rather than words
honestly, I could see these ideas received well here lol.
go for it!
the entire point of being a suggester is to give ideas.
This implies you can level up black people
also jesus christ formating and editing on mobile is hell when you cant see what you type
never cook again
and i dont even think this suggestion is terrible or anything. in my eyes its as pointless as all suggestions to add a new magic or fighting style considering how both of these work overall (all sharing the same skills, being ideally balanced and having a similar amount of work behind them)
