m1 slower attacks = more dmg and bigger aoe
m1 faster attacks = less dmg and less aoe
for the skills i suppose they will work the same for m1s
the only change is the dmg compared to the original
maybe ill make it like yakuza fighting styles with a button that changes the stats or maybe have 1 or 2 bars and when the player dodges and use skill they will fill up a bar and if the player misses attacks or get hit they will fill the other
it will probably have the same stats as basic combat

1st bar

  • Fills when dodging and landing attacks.
  • Increases agility, attack speed, and evasiveness.
  • Reduces damage and AoE, making attacks more precise but weaker.
  • If maxed, the player dodges more unpredictably but deals much lower damage.

2nd bar

  • Fills when blocking, getting hit, or missing attacks.
  • Increases damage and AoE, making attacks hit harder and wider.
  • Reduces agility and attack speed, making dodging slower and attacks more sluggish.
  • If maxed, the player moves like a sluggish drunk, making them easier to punish.

there will be some drawbacks so players dont abuse certain stuff like nonstop dodging or missing every single attack

In my opinion, you should just stick to one main gimmick per style so you don’t risk making a style that can do too much

Frankly you should go more in on this gimmick, make the style centered around avoiding attacks and using the boosted mobility to slip past attacks

or maybe it could work similar to sailor style(so basically if you drink seawater/whatever the hell you decide to use for a harmful drink, it works like the second bar, but when empty, it works like the first bar)

also reason i made it big its cuz the koi is gonna be a superboss and he will be riding a skeleton dragon that is imbued with blizzard magic (koi’s magic) meaning people will have to team up to fight him you can solo but it can take a long time

the boss tho is gonna exist only in future future updates
once i find more ways to obtain legendary weapons

@beefybuffoon if you want to write some lore on koi go ahead, give ideas, write something important of his backstory or something

also there will be some group of bandits that spawn scoutsin the area, they mainly exist in one of the islands in the archipelago

koi was a legendary horseman (with his dragon pal cause he’s just built like that) who wielded a spirit axe crafted by hephaestus, blessed by boreas, and imbued with blizzard magic, he died a long time ago but his soul remains to be challenged
his axe has moves that are physical, magical, and reminiscent of spirit weapons
peak lore?

he uses the legendary frostwater bow lol but the legendary weapons being crafted by a god seems good.
for the dragon it would be better to make it as what caused his demise and his last hunt since dragons are known for being aggressive in many fantasy stories and games
for his attacks and the dragon attacks i will plan in the long long future.
its not peak but its decent.
