Dafuq is Spirit hound?

I’ll be honest here, I do not understand in the slightest what is your issue with Spirit Hound.

Design-wise - yes, why is it a giant wolf head? There is no reason for it to be a hound, its weird. But in combat, this is just a second blast with slightly different mechanics.

You named it right that it is larger, thats an advantage, but its main one by far is damage. Due to piercing, it deals its damage twice, basically double that of spirit blast. Yeah, its slower, but the damage is so worth it.

Piercing through walls is very helpful, unless the enemy is coded to not receive any damage through them, because Vetex is a great dev. It helped me especially to get those Dark Sea animals, spawned inside of the island’s geometry, since Vetex is a great dev.

I don’t understand any bugs you and the others brought up, what bugs does it even have? The fact it sometimes instantly explodes when you fire it? This is because it is large enough to hit the floor, just jump up before firing it, same as any other large projectile.

It can, thats why I am so confused with this topic. Hound is a great sidegrade to spirit blast, slightly more close-ranged and with greater damage.

Also, why is everyone comparing it to Cannon? For me, it looks far more alike to Flying Phoenix, but with more size and the same per-tick damage as its single-hit counterpart for some reason.

because it cool :3

the staff is blessed by nyx and nyx is god of the night and night has moon and wolf and moon

yea you get the point, thats my guess anyway

Why isn’t it a cat? I’d like that far more

I think it’s supposed to function like flying phoenix

I am petting my cat right now as I speak, and I will stand on the fact that cats are better.

That aside, though, what are the bugs mentioned by the others? I need an explanation on that

Yeah, thats the first association that came to my head as I used the rite for the first time. Immediately after I questioned why doesn’t its damage get halved like Phoenix’s is, since its busted with double hits

Yeah the problem is not a single time in my life Spirit Hound has hit someone twice. It just went through them.

Unrelated but I compared it to Cannon because it simply goes through terrain no matter what, while flying phoenix properly sticks to a surface commonly. Spirit Hound just DOES NOT want to hit sometimes and it went through my targets without even dealing any damage. Same goes for second hit, it just does not go. It may hit the first but I never landed a double hit on it, maybe i just have skill issue idk

Though I think it works better if they are grounded targets, but I tried that as well and it just didn’t want to hit a second time

Wait, you tried to hit airborne targets with that? Huh, thats why you’re complaining. The distance between the first and the second hit depends on the size of the projectile, and Hound is big enough to sometimes skip past a simple humanoid character’s hitbox, unlike the much smaller Flying Phoenix. Use it on someone on the ground while you’re in the air or just higher than them at all, and you will get the first hit on them, and the second hit from the projectile hitting the ground

For hitting airborne targets, you have Spirit Blast, thats how sidegrades work. One is better sometimes, and other is better at other times

yes

The projectile exploding twice on a ground has very good dmg production, Idk what did you do to think its bad
