i dont even think deepwoken has this
Attuned mobs attuments do less damage to them and some other attunments do more damage to them and the shadow attuned nullifies m1 damage inflicted to them however mantras do more to them

Could be a cool feature for bosses such as sea monsters in the future, it’d be fun if the temperature bar and weather/climate mechanics were expanded upon
Great idea, why don’t we have bosses and stuff have the ability to just negate half the damage you deal?

-spend days getting the rare spells for fire magic
-pick explosion for second magic since it compliments the fire
-sail into dark sea prepared to take on anything
-beaten to death by A.S. Bestos, atlantean ship janitor immune to heat
Even if there are weapon type immunities, you can always just equip a different load out. Run into a human snail who can’t be hit by sharp weapons? Just sail away until you leave combat, switch to a club, return, and beat him up
Fighting styles can be changed but it’s a bitch and a half to do so, plus you cant during an expedition. They also wouldn’t suffer as much, since what is going to make you immune to both cannon and thermo? How can you block the power of drunken sea fighting and metal coated legs? Kinetic immunity? Then only poison mages can hit him. Unless you only have one fighting style or all logic is just dropped when implementing this, they won’t suffer that much due to the variety of styles
Mages are encouraged to take similar magics. What reason would you for taking fire and snow, or lightning and earth? The most common combo with variety is water and lightning (though I’m probably missing some new meta build the mage community pulled out their ass)
