doesn’t even take that much skill to get people to start ripping their wigs off here. ok, ok, just as a guide to anyone else, this is basically how you do it:

Make sure not to make the post too soon after some other troll has done the same thing. Obvious reasons.

Don’t make it too too obvious that you’re trolling, but this isn’t a problem. most people won’t realize it from your initial comment no matter how obvious it is. this is as easy as just making your post long enough that people don’t think it’s a troll, and presenting your “facts” a little bit seriously.

Know preemptively what kind of approach you’ll take with the trolling. Oblivious? Enraged? Demeaning? Just make sure you pull people’s strings while doing so. This isn’t really a tip to make the trolling believable, just one to get the most fun out of it.
Fuck, you don’t even really need some of these tips. The only real important tip is #1, and #2 is kind of important but not really.
as an example, if I wanted to troll by saying RNG is bad, instead of just saying “yeah, it sucks lol go outside”, you want to bring up faux-points for maximum effect. that’ll lure people in that would usually have the discretion to not fall for bait. you can say something like “it disincentivizes skill” or “it’s just a way for you to falsely simulate actual content in the game” or “it’s just to increase play times”. don’t make them make too much sense though.
a really good one is “it’s not really fun, it’s just an addiction mechanic and that’s immoral”. it hits all three strikes:
- it’s pretentious by assuming that it is impossible to find something fun simply because the writer doesn’t find it fun.
- it insults the technique directly.
- it uses the “immoral” word. that gets people’s goat.
those three are really good because you can follow up with even further trolling. with the first point you can dismiss any criticism by further insulting people’s tastes. with the second point you can go even further and insult the developer, which will get people’s panties in a twist real fast. with the third one, people get personally attacked by it.
if someone brings up a good counterpoint to anything you say, you can either ignore it, repeat any non-point you’ve brought up, say that they aren’t making any sense, or just give a one word response. if you even concede a single point to someone, do it to appear more pretentious than you already do or to claim moral superiority later.
this is from my personal experience; since people get touched really fucking easily here you shouldn’t really need my tips. just listen to your heart and you’ll find a way.
TL:DR just be as annoying as possible while not being obvious about it.
EDIT: also another obvious point: use an alt and a VPN. if you already have a positive reputation people won’t bite as much. hell, you should always be using a VPN when you’re exploring a forum. that way, if your account gets banned and you can’t use a VPN any more, you can always use your main IP.
