Deltarune boss difficulty ranking (chapter 3 and 4 spoilers)

Why is Chapter 4 kind of missing the titular comic relief character? Where’s my Lancer, my Queen, my Tenna? We got the old man, but he’s not really that funny, he’s just awesome.

Get off this thread immediately to avoid spoilers, but to answer your question

Chapter 3 is around equal in quality to chapter 2 in my opinion, both better than one

Chapter 4 is by far the best chapter in the game and it’s not even close, it makes all the others look bad by comparison

because chapter 4 is where the game starts to flip in tone, from 80% funny 20% serious to 80% serious 20% funny. the entire chapter is about unravelling a prophecy which predicts that great tragedy will come to you, and at the end of the chapter you witness the beginning of the end of the world.

you can see this in susie’s reaction to dark fountains being opened. at the beginning of the game it was ‘cool, another adventure!’ but in chapter 4, it starts to become distressing.

It doesn’t feel very Deltarune, I hope we get more memorable jokes and such going forward. Had to release both chapters at once or people would criticize 4.

Who would criticize 4? A large majority of people I see (including me) are saying 4 is the best chapter by far, shit getting more real in the second half of the game was always gonna happen

I knew it was gonna happen, I just wasn’t sure if I was gonna like it.

The light world stuff is the best thing in deltarune yet though.

gerson is the best part of chapter 4 imo, the secret boss fight was the easiest but imo it was probably my favorite

the secret boss was easily the worst part of chapter 3 though imo, the quest to fight john mantle seemed overly confusing and exclusive. especially considering it’s damn near essential to beat the knight with

I feel like Chapter 3’s ending was too much at once. Everything happened all at the same time it felt like. And with the rest of your reply I agree completely.

i kind of disagree, it was fucking insane on a first playthrough for someone who had spent 4 years theorizing, yeah, but there’s really no other time it any of it could’ve happened for it to still make sense

which part was more surprising to you?
I think it was Tenna dying, by the time Undyne showed up I was just laughing my ass off at the absurdity.

well, the knight showing up and neg diffing the fun gang made me actually scream out loud, so probably that one

remember, he deals % dmg, he could be one of the strongest if he was trying to kill u
