he was a 2G who was only for free
don’t wait!
Deltarune fans need a cryptic character that they can obsess over, otherwise they starve to death.
First it was Mike who was passive-aggressively used as a charicature to make fun of ludicrous theorycrafting.
After Mike it was Friend who was passive-aggressively relegated to a spooky easter egg that hints to think more about it in relation to value.
Now it’s the glup shitto slouch parrot, and I just can’t wait to see how Toby Fox turns this one on us.
ok i’ve looked into it, some of the things make sense but i have a lot of issues
some of these are specific points from jrvanity’s video on it some of them are general
textwall ramblings of a crazy person, major dr spoiler warning if you're reading this and haven't played chapter 5 for some reason
- why would gerson form in the knight’s dark world when neither kris nor noelle had any sort of connection with gerson in such a way? it can’t be that kris got it from inside the dark world, as susie was far more connected with gerson in the dark world but couldn’t remake him.
- there hasn’t been any explicit form of time travel shenanigans yet save for the basic saving and reloading, not saying there can’t be but it’d be WEIRD for them to be set up and delivered upon in the final two chapters of the game
- the player never doing weird route (which barely anybody will do without use of online guides) means that the knight couldn’t have come into existence unless some external force decided to do it pre-player
- (kind of an extension of 3) the weird route is actively and heavily discouraged by the game, to the point that it comes off as “unintended” in the narrative, why would it be necessary in order to fully understand a main route plot point as major as the knight? that is incredibly counterintuitive. it would be like if undertale had the ending always have the geno additions even if you’ve never done geno
- humans and monsters assumedly have the same or very similar resistance to “determination”, considering how fountains are made and what we have seen.
- kris and the knight’s fountains are near identical, but this is likely just because kris is forwarding whatever the knight’s goals are
- why would kris be working with the knight
- the game having only one ending is somewhat of a moot point considering what the steam page says. if i’m remembering correctly this was updated after chapter 2’s release.
- the cut shadow crystal dialogue of undyne being frozen in ice was probably cut for a reason.
- reused and remixed audio isn’t very strong evidence, as it is a common practice that toby and many other game devs do
- there is no evidence for them transforming that’s kind of just leaping to a conclusion
- why would this theoretical kris-noelle knight amalgam go back in time and start opening dark worlds?
- a lot of the parallels in the theory could easily be chalked up as narrative parallels and subtext and such
read at your own risk
Anyone else notice how when asgore is talking about the “original fountain maker” he never actually specifies the knight
all we have that correlates the knight is that there was a black shard both at the “first fountain” and the computer lab
Ralsei even comments how it doesn’t make sense for the knight to have made a fountain long ago, since it “only appears along with the heroes”
Idk anyone else see what I’m yammering about?
I can’t believe Chara would open a Dark fountain
When theorizing about the Knight, I realize their motives are still unclear. I don’t think anyone would want to cause a world-ending disaster just for kicks and giggles, so what do you guys think the Knight is doing?
Making a fountain that sprays chocolate.
That sounds like a pretty noble cause
I think the knight is definitely not opening dark worlds for fun and causing the roaring on accident, because if they wanted to have fun we’d have had less sacrifice and more frolicking from them.
Narratively speaking, I think the best idea is that the knight wants to release December, since that’s been set up pretty well.
i remember seeing some theory on yt about how the knight cant start the roaring yet cuz they dont have enough determination (takes determination to open dark fountains, so the knight can only open so many), and the reason they kidnap people is to extract their determination
certianly explains why the knight went for undyne
idk, what do you two think?
wait wait wait
undertale characters are in this game?
still not playing ![]()
