I don’t really know why this was enough for them to go trending. It’s nothing out of question for PETA to post. I guess Twitter is the land of overexaggerating and chronically online syndrome, but that applies to most social media platforms too.
The only truly annoying thing there was this comment:

You know you don’t need to make a Twitter account to see Twitter posts right?
Twitter will spam you with “Log In” stuff and it is super difficult to navigate.

I don’t know if this is because I used to use twitter, but when I wanted to check what PETA did, I went directly to twitter.com/PETA, and didn’t even bother trying to navigate the site.
Would still rather deal with the obnoxious popups and shit than actually make an account for it though. If I made an account just because a website kept spamming me to do so, I would feel like I lost somehow.
