I dont think souls games want you to throw yourself at the boss 100 times. There’s no punishment for doing so, but I’ve found that its often far easier to try and change your strategy when approaching a difficult encounter. Soulsborne games and Deepwoken aren’t really the same in this regard. In Soulsborne games, many enemies have hidden weaknesses to certain affinities or weapons, such as stone or crystal enemies being weaker to blunt weapons, those cage dudes from DS3 being weak to weapons like spears and rapiers, and the saw cleaver doing more damage to “beast” enemies in Bloodborne. They try to encourage experimentation by hiding stuff like this, even if you can usually tell by just looking at your enemy. (you could assume that a hammer would do more damage to a man covered in rocks than a sword would)
Deepwoken doesn’t really encourage experimentation while fighting enemies. these secret weaknesses don’t exist, and its more about how you actually fight rather than what tools you use. Deepwoken has worse game design than bb or elden ring no doubt, but they aren’t the exact same.

You are the protagonist in AO, in deep you are one of the millions that fight to be at the top - and you will still get absolutely murdered by endgame bosses (eventually)

Ok while I think dw is good with our friends it ain’t the best. Also there’s many features your going to have to get used to the luck system pvp and pve. However may be hard cuz Erisa gankers. Your first 1 to 3 profiles are just getting better at the game.there alot of rng if you want the right cards while luck increases that it’s not 100% also you’re gonna have to find your own way for bell progression. Eventually you’ll be able to get enchants. Some features I really don’t like and they have poorly optimize optimization which they kind of fix whenever they rolled out how you can pick servers. Also it takes them forever to fix a game breaking bug however it takes them literally two seconds To fix a good bug. Almost got banned from the stupid iron Clad glitch luckily I was recording and I sent the footage to my friend to send to the devs cuz I don’t have dis.
