Pretty sure it’s not referring to a single important figure, just any important figures that aren’t going to already be covered a lot in AO’s story to begin with

I’m not hating? I like the game. It’s just ridiculous to say it’s going to have a huge impact or importance on the lives of the players.
Again, I think the people who’d be truly deeply affected by the death of AO are incredibly rare, maybe a couple hundred at most.

Yeah but honestly it would screw up the value of seasonal and then what am I supposed to do with all the seasonal i collected just in case they became valuable
Imo, the Roblox change is trying to change the field too much at once, and will hurt game diversity more.
The change seems like a counter to"games" and games like SoulsRNG and Bee swarm Simulator: where you just sit down, and leave it AFK for hours on end, then come back and play for a bit.
This (as others have previously said), helps promote games you play in short bursts, like Grow a Garden, or Battle-grounds games.
The other category this promotes is games where you can spend a good bit frequently… games with frequent seasonal events, constant daily features, and other small things one can buy frequently. I’m not to sure if its an accurate example (i’ve never played or watched anything about it), but i think Blox Fruits is an equivalent example?
I don’t think this will be very good for AO in the future, it doesn’t fit into the SoulsRNG category, as you definetly don’t play AO 24/7 (and AFK/macro is prohibited anyways), but its also not a game i could really see people playing every day, nor does it have much encouragement to spend as of now. AO isn’t completely screwed, its a game I’d imagine people will play frequently, like every other day, or at least once a week. It doesn’t help that they reduced the amount of time premnium is counter for though.
There isn’t a way for Vetex to bring it to the Grow a Garden state, so he is correct; he’ll have to start upping monitization, and make it repeatable. Vetex really doesn’t look like the guy to add much loot boxes / spinners, which are really the only thing that would get people to spend consitiently; so this will definetly hurt the AO funds if it goes through in its current state.
I do see the posibility that enough Devs will complain as to bring some kind of change, but I don’t see much Roblox would do to help everybody… I also don’t know their end-goal, so i can’t really say any balance.
Honestly, i could see them increasing the time you earn from premium by a bit; or making the time you can earn from users in game increase based on their spending in your game.
I still think this is going to heavily hurt the creativity market a ton. If you made a long game thats fun, you could expect a decent payout even if its not touched very frequently; but with this, its basically forcing “roguelites”, play a few “rounds”/minutes, leave, play some more tomorrow.
I’m not saying its a completely bad idea on Roblox’s end, i don’t know how much they’re giving by letting games like SoulsRNG farm playertime, but its good that it discourages that extreme of playtime farming. Roblox is still a business, it need to generate a profit, and they’re incentive is to increase that by some amount every so often; they’re cutting on the amount they’re giving it seems, but i don’t think there will be a lot of support for this.
It’s like they’re trying to battle against peoples time on a much deeper scale, getting a game (or several) that you know people will try to break into their day at least once is profitable for them, and since roblox is on all platforms (namely mobile), they know games they can just hop onto will be positive for them. Enticing developers to much such games seems to be the end goal.
