Empires Update: Community Thoughts on Clan Changes? (Polls)

clans dont really do anything right now besides counting infamy so i can see why you think that, that’s changing though so no need to confuse the past with the future

excuse me WHAT SINCE WHEN

you don’t, idk where he got that from

If your response to me addressing your complaint is “who cares” you don’t really deserve to criticize anything lmao

But that has nothing to my complaint, it’s just you saying which slot you’d rather use.

joining the gravy or ASS is more PVE than clans’ PVP centric gameplay. unless vetex makes player fleets a clan exclusive then it might bridge to PVE but right now, it is PVP centric.

He might be confusing it with the fact that selling structures refunds you 80%

Gravy and Ass are too restricting. Ranking up WILL make you vulnerable to attacks, eventually you NEED to be on the LEADERBOARD to rank up, and until you DO rank up, you’re stuck looking like a doofus.

Just save the build to your personal slot if you’re just making the clan to build a bit without having any clanmates

Not the point, but okay?

You’re moving the goalposts though, what you said is that clans have always been pvp exclusive, I told you they won’t be anymore, and then you’re changing what you originally said :frcryin:

How will they not be? The main point of an entire tab is to protect your base from other greedy players.

what’s your point then? Having to press a few buttons and pay 5k galleons to start building isn’t difficult

And then you have to deal with protecting your island, you’ll be outclassed by every clan with more than one person, you’ll be easier to target through bounty hunting, and all for what, a coppershroom farm and a shipwright on limestone key?

One tab doesn’t speak for all tabs, there are pve features as well like the reagent pot and whatever else will be added. On another note he’s planning on making npcs raid your island in the future which’ll be cool for pve

In future. There’s no PvE to it.

idk what this even means you’re gonna have to elaborate

Having a clan isn’t just building, hence why it’s been a feature for a long time without it.

Those shouldn’t be mutually exclusive things in the first place.

that’s just completely arbitrary though, by that logic I could go ahead and say “ships aren’t just about merchant deckhands, I shouldn’t need to be near my ship to buy stuff”. Idk it just feels like you’re complaining for no reason cause you’re not actually explaining how it impacts gameplay

Counter Arguments

There always was one, it’s just that it ran dry pretty quickly (due to their purpose being defeated).
Such things are:

  • Enchanting/Disenchanting (runs dry after you can do the dark sea as there are better enchantments to be earned)
  • Upgrading (runs dry after upgrading the items you want to upgrade)
  • Part Crafting (runs dry after crafting the ship parts you want to craft)
  • Ship Purchasing/repairing (runs dry after obtaining the best ship possible with a shipwright deckhand)
  • Item Purchasing (runs dry after you got every cosmetic item in the game)
  • Item Dying (runs dry after you’ve dyed what you wanted to dye)
  • Merchant deckhand (never runs dry, people just don’t care about them)

Same as above, except that you won’t even have a reason to do so because clan structures will do so in your stead.

Creative possibilities*, it otherwise won’t be anything special other than a new pain for treasure hunters (which vetex wanted to promote even more by adding the rusty/lost sets).
Here’s why:

  • Islands still take as long to claim, leaving the original occupants of the island capable of coming back swiftly (thanks to barracks)
This essentially makes island capturing non-viable

  • High infamy clans will have more funds and cheaper costs, essentially making a power hierarchy in clans and creating an anti-newbie cycle.
(Strong clans can’t be beaten by weak clans, meaning that the strong will yet again prey on the weak)

  • Sea exploration will be much more difficult as the clan infamy changes&island building feature will encourage claiming and defending a ton.
Which means less Bronze Sea explorers and less modified items on the market (a large portion of treasure charts will be rendered invalid due to mortars and culverins)
