Be ready to sacrifice a deckhand when you do.
Nah, I’ll just only get 3 deckhands for now (I only sacrificed my old ones today)
Fleet? (please forgive me i live under a rock)
Reach level 150 and talk to Edward Kenton on your ship (you need to have done his quest). Complete the quest he gives you.
It’s basically an AFK farm galleon sink that eventually lets you sink even more galleons for cool exclusive items (fleet research) and eventually turns a profit.
so in other words if I get 30 more levels I can just afk the game
You still need to put some effort into it from time to time.
so I just get 30 more levels then afk with interaction every time a decide to play AO
Is it confirmed that brigs and sailboats take the same amount of damage?
When I look at my ships, all my ships of a particular class have taken roughly the same amount of damage, roughly proportional to their fleet capacity.
For example, all of my ketches have taken approximately some multiple of 335 damage, and all of my brigs have taken some multiple of 700 damage. Caravels are ~250 damage per tick, sailboats seem to take ~140 damage.
This means that the only effect durability has is that some ships have more HP relative to their follower capacity - brigs are the technically the best ship, but only because they can survive 30 ticks of neglect instead of the 15 that the other ships take.
It was very hard to find an example of a ship in my fleet with more than 2 ticks of damage, and I’m running conquest without the level 3 upgrade and only repairing my ships every 20 minutes. There doesn’t seem to be any drachma savings for using brigs, and there’s a very tangible drachma loss for dismissing a perfectly good set of sailboats and then paying 1200 drachma to replace them with a brig.
Oh, and even if they do sink, you don’t lose any followers apparently.
So really, it’s just QoL to replace them with brigs.
