Fort Castrum Strategy

Did this strat and It worked

I’ve tried doing it with 4 people and my frames were still tanking

I did a few more raids, and I conclude that four people is still very difficult. I think three should be the maximum. Two is the best choice since if you do solo and die the raid is completely over.

Yeah 3 is most likely the most you can bring to a singular raid, anything past that seems to push the scaling way beyond what is reasonably manageable

Just some advice here:

If you’re a weapon class, use devastate as much as you can. It sort of stuns them, and had a strong clashbox that helps to prevent damage.

When fighting valerri, you can bring him underwater, which completley stops him from attacking (attacks turn to steam)

Bring aura potions (the ones made by the cloud essence and dark sea essentia). These are a godsend, and have excellent uses, some of them being:

-thundering pots: these deal heavy damage and also paralyze all the enemies

-gale pots: if your team is ever under stress, one of these can send all the guards up into the sky, preventing them from attacking you.

-any dot pot: because of how long dot applied by aura pots last ( unless this has been changed) these can apply a dot for the entirety of the round to the enemies, hurting them and giving synergy damage.

have you ever tried doing this?

Yes, and it worked quite well. Another benifit with them is that you can use them and run, and have the enemies being damaged while you can heal. They are expensive, though.

Just wanna say that this is miss information, most of the time leaves you defenseless letting the other npcs m1 you

It’s better to use mostly ranged abilities and stay out of range of the enemies but this can be a bit difficult for some builds. Also keep an eye for strong builds and pick them off as fast as possible (mainly mages because placed explosions pretty much always hit unless they have small attack size)

I’m pretty sure npcs don’t m1 you anymore, and even if they could, devestate flings them into the air. You should try to group as many guards as you can before using the move, to prevent missing some, and letting them hit you.

Devestate was a very good move during my runs overall, I encourage people to at least try it.

Placed explosions exists, there’s also no way to group effectively enough unless you wanna get close which is not an option in the later waves due to them being able to eat you dry from 2k+ health in two seconds depending on how lucky you are with classes and magics they spawn with

Placed explosions hardly deal any damage, and also do not come with the benifit of a “stun”, and a very strong clashbox.

From my experience spamming the move on the fort, the upwards knockback and the clashbox pretty much prevents you from getting hurt. I am using a speed build though (meaning the endlag on devestate is shorter), and it might be different for slow magics.

  1. Go solo
  2. Dodge and blast till you win

You miss understood, I was talking about the enemies placed explosions, they’re pretty much unavoidable damage and when there’s 20 of them at once yeah that damage racks up

Also yeah if you have speed build it’s probably gonna be good but on builds that aren’t speed it’s not really an option tbh, the endlag is too big most of the time
