As someone who is ace, I’ve had the misfortune of people wanting to date me. It’s absolutely not my thing, more often than not its aces trying to avoid it than not getting it.
Up until a month ago I have never felt any sort of attraction to anyone. For properly Aroace people, it’s likely the same but without the “up until a month ago”

You can be asexual and in a relationship, it’s just without or with very little sexual attraction. Aromantics generally don’t experience or experience very little romantic attraction. Most aroaces are perfectly fine without relationships (and some hate the idea of being in one).

I’m well aware that they’re not the same thing, I was originally just pointing out that 20% of people being asexual is high, even for forums and I suspect a majority of those people actually just haven’t experienced sexual attraction from their preferred sex of partner
