Again, it’s less saying what you identify as is wrong, and more the pre-established label you use to define your gender identity doesn’t match with the identity you describe yourself as

the reason why genders exist is thanks to gender norms/roles having been spawned by various societies, such that gender identities are based off the gender norms/roles rather than just organs.
Examples include masculinity being generally associated with strength and stuff like shorter hair, with femininity being generally associated with stuff like being more delicate, stuff like longer hair.
As such, gender identity is moreso built around these norms/roles that have existed for a while
