heyy what did I miss (I was gone for several months)

also hey my forums anniversary was 4 days ago

A lot. Arguably, the biggest thing since the game’s initial release.

Arcane Odyssey is either cooked or saved, we’re not sure yet.

Basically, what happened is that same new devs have taken over working on the game due to Vetex burning out. Vetex isn’t hands-off with them, so they still have his oversight, but they are getting started with some much-requested community features, and because there’s about half a dozen of them, they can probably work faster than the V-man could alone, even if most of them aren’t that experienced.

Gauge your current hopes and your current expectations for Arcane Odyssey:

Current hope level for AO
  • Unreasonably optimistic. The new devs will exceed the original vision of the game and make it into something truly special
  • Optimistic. The new devs will bring about a re-defining of AO, it will improve considerably from its current path,
  • Slightly optimistic. The new devs are for the better, but I’m not getting my hopes up long-term.
  • Neutral. The new devs are an opportunity, but may or may not improve the game.
  • Pessimistic. The game’s fundamental flaws are too big to overcome, even with decent changes.
  • Very pessimistic. We’re still screwed, it’ll just take longer to properly die.

What are your expectations for AO?
  • We make it all the way to the end of the story and have additional endgame content added.
  • The game cuts off at the end, but we make it to it.
  • We make it to the 5th sea before development ceases.
  • We make it to the 4th sea before development ceases.
  • We cut out just having finished the 3rd sea.
  • The 3rd sea is left half-complete. The story stops abruptly and isn’t finished.
  • There’s a few islands added to the 3rd sea, and the beginning of its storyline is implemented.
  • We finish the Nimbus Sea storyline before the game is dropped.
  • We’re verging on the completion of the Nimbus Sea storyline when everything cuts.
  • We don’t even get Rainspire.

If there was a strong negative player reaction to the universal downscaling basically nuking us to have smaller attacks than elius forever do you think vetex/new devs would undo/lower it?

  • Yes
  • No

This is Vetex we’re talking about. I have no idea.

Truthfully, so long as the downsizing applies to everything, I think it’ll be the right decision. My only concern is that NPCs still have perfect accuracy and superior stats, so I’m concerned that this may force us to brawl with them up close, which is not… ideal.

full release removed npc aimbot and made a mechanic where their attacks have a chance to miss to make things fair (not counting gun npcs they still have aimbot somehow 1331346015810490510 )
my testament is that my mage rival often missed his attacks unlike before full release where he was somehow hitting the perfect shots to the point id usually hide mid fight
but you can also read one of the patches i forgot which specific one though my bad

It applies primarily to enemies below level 80, though. Above that level, wasn’t their accuracy still the same?
