You arrive at Masada, the foretold last location of the person on the Bounty Poster you took. Upon leaving through the eastern gate of the town, you turn your head to the right and immediately find the one you’re after, running in your direction. Already prepared, you cast your trustworthy Lightning Aura spell, followed by a swift Blast. The target doesn’t dodge nor block either spell, instead opting to rush forward with a soaked sword in their right hand. His dash fails to collide, giving you the perfect opportunity for your equally-useful Explosion. As the fight goes on, with the target actually landing more hits, you almost get them completely down before witnessing them pop open a strange glass bottle.

Within an instant, their wounds disappear before your very eyes, and they believe they are ready to kick you down to Tartarus. They still appear heavily tired out, however, and seem to feel pain with every movement they make. You manage to defeat them shortly after, signal to the Grand Navy squadron leaving the island of Sameria after a recent execution that you’ve got a criminal on your hands, and watch as the Execution Crew’s Frigate leaves with your enemy in tow.

As your heart rate begins to lower itself and your muscles begin to relax, you decide to reward yourself with a bit of shopping at Masada’s Auction House. You don’t find any good deals, however, and as you turn away, you notice a fleet of four multi-colored ships sailing straight to Shieldguard, with speed once thought impossible. Knowing that your capabilities cannot extend to handling four captains at once, you decide that it’s best to step far away from them as possible. You ready your ship, still docked at Masada, and decide to take on the bounty of your seemingly-eternal nemesis at the ruined Port Mistral.

About a quarter of the way through the trip, you notice that the Grand Navy set off a signal at Shieldguard; the Fleet must have been there to break out your target. You sigh, accepting it as a fact of life within the turbulent War Seas, and keep sailing. Upon finally arriving at the ruined island, you double-check to make sure you have the right Bounty Poster, but as you leave your wheel, you hear the sound of roaring waters behind you. It’s a fleet.

The same fleet.

You try to set the sails down in an attempt to make a quick escape, but as a mortar shot sounds out, you hear the tearing of sails and see holes in your ship that seemed to be in the shape of a Chainshot. You can’t sail away; the only thing you can do is fight. As the fleet of ships docks around you, the captains seem to come together. You witness one of them cast a strange spell that you have not seen a single opponent use before, but not before another one slams two tall potions of orange and deep-blue colors onto the deck. The potion-user is the same as the target you hunted. They start chasing you as soon as the potion clouds fade away, and they quickly succeed. They all cast Aura spells, use Focus techniques, and even Weapon skills that function like Auras of varying types, and within seconds, your time is just about up. As your vision fades away and you hear the flames of Tartarus calling your name, you hear the jeers of “ez,” “stick to PvE,” and other juvenile insults from the vengeful group.

Okay, now on a serious (and not writing-based) note, I’m still afraid of these death squads. If you kill one of the more arrogant PvP diehards, odds are they might grab their friends and force you into a fight you can’t win. Either that, or I’m projecting my unmatchable level of spite onto them again.

There is another.

I get the feeling this would only happen with people in clans, but it’s still something that would happen if they go to spin back- the only thing for it is to leave the game after you get a gank in order to hope to never see them again, and if you do, kill them before they get their friends

Added this to the archive!

For Divanochi’s sake please keep discussion on topic.

holy shit you wrote an entire short story

yeah i feel like hunting anyone is gonna become a big risk because they could have a group of friends that can absolutely annihilate you more than normal

good thing we’re getting pvp toggle for more casual minded people like me

I’m kinda sad about this because this means you can’t do the funny Elden Ring buff stacking to one shot a boss

But yeah understandable

part 3 coming soon if the yap continues

dude it would be so funny
get a full squad of 6 mages
5 of them all use enchant on a max power metal mage, the metal mage uses power aura and then hits a guy with a 20% ultimate art blast

5000!

you forgot about the power potion

this would be funny as shit

you forgot about the frozen synergy

Question, will insanity be considered as a status effect that affects npc accuracy?

not currently
