Full Release Update Patch Notes (Discussion Thread) (Part 2)

i dont think so, the big changes seem more like necessary ones than “this is gonna change combst forever”

I agree that that’s more likely, but I’ll keep on hoping anyway

Hell yeah now they needa nerf metal

lovely juxtaposition

Skill implies aim but aim does not imply skill

Skill is knowing when to shoot and where

I don’t think some of you realise aim is a skill

We very much do

I’m pretty sure you said that the other way around because it makes zero sense

Either way I don’t think that’s what 64arc is trying to imply

No, I did say it that way, cause it does make sense. No one here denies that aim is a skill, we’re just arguing that it does not make skill on its own. Most people playing AO can land their p shots, that alone does not make them skilled

what issue there even was regardin attack size?

my personal concerns include its efficiency increase due to agility’s removal, as well as the size / accuracy combo in FR

Aim and being good at the game are not mutually garunteed.AO pvp is not about your aim, i’d even argue its not even that impressive to be able to aim in AO just due to the nature of hitscan attack, meanwhile things like predict where your opponent will go is significantly more skilleed then just aiming.

thats the wrong use of the word skill..
it can be used to describe an affinty for a task
or
the ability to do an action or job with a certain level of mastery

“aim is a skill”

like.. aiming?

no, like fighting

no they meant what they said, if you’re skilled at AO you would be able to aim and predict your shots, but with just cuz i can aim doesnt mean im good at position or predictions.

he was just making a snarky (or what he thought was snarky :skull:) that implied that aim is skill and he was misinformed

what?
so having great aim isn’t a skill, but hitting people till they die is a skill?

no…
would you say working a 9-5 is a skill?
but you can be skilled at working a 9-5…

You need aim in order to fight people properly, but it alone is not sufficient

I’d call being able to work that a skill, yes
