i lower my guard a bit like the idiot i am, carefully examining the cockatrice and whether i should keep it as a pet or kill it
the little chick, eyes still closed, coughs up a small bout of flames, sitting back on its bottom as the momentum pushes it back
i put the knife aside and take a closer look at the strange animal, now feeling a bit of affection for the tiny creature
the baby cockatrice, at the sound of your movement, peers up at you with still-closed eyes and gets up, walking toward you
deeming the chick as innocent, i slowly get closer to it and reach my hand over
the chick, unaware of your intentions, nips at your fingers but leaves no marks or pain
i reach out and gently touch the chick on its head
the chick tries to climb onto your band and falls several times
i carefully enclose the chick in both of my hands, aware of the fluffy down and scaly skin all over its body
the chick cries out a few times before opening its eyes. the last thing you see is an ashen hell in which a field of petrified bodies stand like statues. you should have probably blindfolded the baby
it hops down from your petrified hand and makes its way onto the floor. your ignorance has allowed a cockatrice to roam this world. before it makes its way out of the window for good, it looks back at you with a cheerful chirp and jumps out

i mean . . . it's not a bad rp by any means. it's got heart, story, and character
if you think about it this could actually be turned into a horror story of sorts, just add a little more to make it fleshed out
mmyes, I couldn't figure out if I wanted to kill you early or not or make this a whole adventure much like my previous one
